Left in the wake of Rubicant's defeat, we soon notice some of the officials from Eblan rushing over to us.

"Your Highness!" a voice calls.

"Chamberlain!" Edge says.

"We won't let Your Highness go alone!" He pauses. "Where is Rubicant?" He looks around but only sees us.

"It's over! We did it!"

"That becomes the Prince!"

"All because of these guys," Edge says, gesturing to the rest of us.

"Thank you, good sirs."

"Who's Golbez?" Edge asks, turning back to us.

"He's the one gathering crystals to reach the moon," Kain says. "He is the mastermind behind Rubicant."

"Why the moon?" Edge asks.

"For the power," Cecil says.

"We have to stop him!" Rydia says.

"Golbez!" Edge says. "So he's behind all this! I'm gonna go get him!"

"Oh, but Your Highness! We must rebuild our castle!"

"The world is in danger! I gotta do something! Besides, I don't like that guy."

"Oh, but Your Highness—"

"Don't worry. Now, go back to Eblan," Edge says.

"Very well. Sirs, please take care of our prince."

"Absolutely," I say.

"Your Highness, good fortune be with you!"

"Okay!" Edge says. The chamberlain and the soldiers departed, leaving the rest of us alone with our thoughts. "Right. Let's go smash Golbez!"

"And get back the crystals!" Rydia says.

"All right! Now, let's go!"

We follow Cecil into the room where all the crystals are. However, just as we approach to claim them, we hear a click.

"A pitfall?" Cecil asks. My heart squeezes in my chest.

Oh no.

Suddenly, the floor collapses beneath us and we fall quite a ways down. Just before we hit the floor, Rosa casts Float on the party. We all breathe a sigh of relief.

"Thanks, Rosa," Rydia says.

"Seems like we've fallen to the underground," Kain says. Looking up, we realize just how many floors are above us.

"We should go," I say.

"Yes, let's," Cecil says. We wander around for a while, battling monsters and leveling up. Soon, we arrive at a wide open room and open the door to discover...

"A new airship?" I ask.

"Let's take this airship and get out of the tower," Edge says.

"It's not yours," Rydia says.

"That's okay! It would be happy to be used by us." Edge passes us by and steps onto the airship, standing in front of the wheel. I follow.

"Are you coming?" I ask the others. They climb onto the airship.

"Isn't this a trap or something?" Rosa asks.

"I don't think so," I say.

"Don't worry! I like this airship. Let's call it Falcon. How do you like that?" Edge says.

"Hurry, Edge!" Cecil says.

"Okay, okay. Now... Go, Falcon!"

I drop to the floor as the ground above us begins to crumble. I cough as dirt and dust fall onto us. I clutch my chest.
