RECAP
This is a marriage partnership, you both will get 'married' next class. Your amount of children will be chosen and your life will be planned. Make sure to be in good terms with your partner, because for the next month you will be 'married' to your partner. Divorce is not optional.
I looked up shocked and confused."Married?...to you"
"It could be worse" Jace said blandly, I looked at him weirdly. "You could be dead"
====================
I was stunned thinking about he said, "You could be dead".
"I am thankful I am alive, but I never did say being married to you was bad" His face showed the confusion he obviously was feeling.
"So you would be okay getting married to me?" he asked in disbelief.
"Oh definitely not" I smirked happy with the annoyed expression from him, but my answer runs deeper than he realized. "Now lets start today's section of the assignment, we need to answer the questionnaire for our compatibility".
"We are meant to separately take the test about each other, then the test will be scanned by some professional machine. Then bam we will know how compatible our marriage will be."
He nodded in understanding pulling out a pencil from his pocket, he glanced at me once more and went on taking the test. I look down at my test writing my name on it and began. The first section of the test questioned what we think our partners favorite things are, like what is their favorite color, food, hobbies, sports and more.
I looked up at Chase while answering the questions as if he had the answers written on him, which he in some way did. From his previous outfits I could guess that red was his favorite color, seeing as it was always incorporated into his clothing. From his conversations with Matt I know his favorite sport is football-not the American type but soccer, he said he loved the sport since he was little but he doesn't play for the school team. Going on like this I answered the questions with things I remembered him saying or things I observed. The next page ask for our personal answers to the question which woud be used to check the accuracy of one anothers answers.
The next portion of the test asked about things we thought about our partner, rating them from one to ten. His looks I gave a seven, his charms I gave a five, his charisma I gave a six, his intellect I gave a nine. I thought hard on the intellect section then remembered the time he got an A on a hard test even Montana failed. In the next section we had to write a paragraph answering the short answer question on what we found appealing in marriage. This gave me an unpleasant thought and I wrote about it. After I finished my writing I arranged all my papers together and got up from my desk to turn it in, my motion was stopped by a hand firmly griping my arm.
"Can I read your paper?"
"Why, can't think of anything to write?" I ask tugging my wrist back, "plaguarism isn't a good idea."
Chase sighs and rubs his temple. "Could you make my life any harder than it is"?
I smile, "I think I could if I tried". He smirked and rolled his eyes, I try to mimick him only to find out that I honestly can't do it. I could bet that I looked like a creep.
"That was the most constipated looking face I have ever seen and trust me I have sadly been in the mens bathrom at Jack in the Box, the bathroom is not too far from this room. Seeing as your new I might even show you the way, but your gonna have to do the shit on your own". I glared at him and tugged my arm again, but he wouldn't budge infact he pulled me closer to him. "If you just gave me the paper it would save you time and embarressment, seeing as you have noticed that all eyes are on you".
I slowly take my eyes of Chase and look around the room and indeed the class was staring, if I was ticked off before you can bet I am raging now. I was about to do something I would regret when Mr San'Taro called my name, I turned my heated gaze to him only to be met with an amused one.
Mr San'Taro grinned seeing how aggrevated I am. "Seeing as you guys are arguing over reading each others papers, why don't y'all present your essays", his proclaimation was met with groans and wails. "And why not make it a grade and Catherine you are first", he added cheerfully. Like the saying says 'If looks could kill, he would be six feet deep'.
I walked to the front of the room, while others walked back to their desk intentionaly nudging me. Taking my position in the front of the room, I coughed awkwardly looking around the room. After taking a breathe I place my paper in front of my face and read.
Thoughts of marriage is something most seventeen year old girl usually have, I unlike most do not like the idea. I believe marriage is a hoax in the world we live in, it isn't the well known white gowns or the superstious throwing of the bouquet that throws me off the wagon. No, it is vows of love and respect till death that throws me off; I don't have commitment issues but the fact that we are human mean we aren't perfect. We make promises that sooner or later we forget and we do what all humans do. We make a mistake, and most times it ends the marriage that was till death do them part. Seeing as this paragraph was meant for things I found appealing in marriage I will bring forth the notion that some marriages do work out and those are the truest. A marriage like those slightly appeal me, and I hope people around the world can find that, but as for me I am fine.
