When he woke up, still within his dream, he didn't know what to make of it. He had wanted to sleep so badly before just to meet Dunk but now that he's gone, he just felt dead inside. He didn't know why he was still here.
"Khun noo, there's a package for you. Here's breakfast as well. Please eat a little." P'Daou brought in a big parcel wrapped in brown paper. He also had the maid bring in a bowl of congee. Joong ignored the food. He went to the parcel and tore the wrapping, only to find Dunk's portrait. The very first portrait that he saw of Dunk.
He noticed his tears when his vision started to blur but all he paid attention to was the person in the portrait.
"Dunk..." he whispered as he touched Dunk's face in portrait.
"You spoke to me when I first saw this portrait... Will you speak to me again, please? I miss you...." Joong started sobbing.

He didn't know how long he cried in front of the portrait, he didn't know how he fell asleep but he a soft touch on his arms that woke him up. A touch so familiar, he thought he was dreaming.
"Why are you sleeping here, silly." Dunk laughed.
"Dunk" He rushed to embrace him.
"Why are you surprised to see me?" Dunk asked with a sense of amusement in his voice.
"I miss you." Joong said as he squeeze Dunk tighter.
" I don't think I've been away that long. Have you eaten?" Joong shook his head.
"Come on, you big baby." Dunk led him to the food and fed him spoon by spoon.

Joong was in pure bliss. He didn't know it was possible to spend time with Dunk days on ends. They didn't leave his room. They chatted, they had play fights, they made love, they've done everything that he didn't think was possible to do before. It had always been a rush previously. Once he slept, he would wake up in his own world. But now, he had spent days with Dunk. There was nowhere else he wanted to be.
until... he didn't see Dunk.
"Dunk?" he found it strange that Dunk wasn't there when he woke up. He had search every corner of his room but he was nowhere to be found. He had asked the maid that came in with his food but she shook her head and scurried off. That's when he noticed-
The portrait of Dunk was gone.
"P'Daou!" Joong shouted which had Daou running to the room.
"Where is Dunk's portrait? Where is it?!" He was practically screaming in his face at this point.
"It's gone. I burned it." P'Daou said as a matter of fact.
"Why would you do that?!" Joong's heart broke at his last connection to Dunk was gone. Dunk was attached to the portrait, he only existed if the portrait exist.
"Look at you! You've not left your room. You are hallucinating. He's dead, khun noo! He's dead. That portrait is a curse if you can see him. The company needs you, khun noo. Your father is gone. Everyone is waiting for you to lead. You need to live, khun noo. If not for yourself then for him. You need to live..." He was reminded of Dunk's last words to him to live for them and to take care of Phuwin. He broke down once again.
Dunk was truly gone....
