" If she's one of them, we have to take her out now." poundcake says, not lowering his gun. Elfie bites her lip. " Poundcake, just calm done. all right?" Elfie drops her gun onto the floor, catching the attention of everyone. she takes her pocket knife out and opens the slip of the tracker on her neck "woah, woah what are you doing Elfie?"  Axe asks as he inches closer to her carefully. 

Elfie takes the tracker off, immediately hearing the gasps of those around her" I'm glowing green, right?" She asks, glancing at Zombie to see him nod before taking his out as well. "oh my god, what's happening!?" Dumbo yells out, everyone now pointing their guns at the three of them." hey, put your guns down. put your guns down, dont shoot!" Zombie yells out, pointing his hands out infront of him" calm down. they arent an other, and neaither am i." everyone looked confused as he explained" im glowing green right?" Zombie asks. everyone nodds" yeah"

" Yeah, yeah. listen. you know me" he says, glancing at everyone. " Come one dumbo, you know who i am. put the guns down" Zombie tries to convince them. " Just put em' down! I'm not an Other. i don't even think any of those people out there shooting at us are Others. " Zombie gestures outside the window before turning back to look at them"Reznik, Vosch. they lied to us.  they lied to us, Man" he says. " Green doesnt mean alien, green means human." he tries to convince. " just without one of these" he holds up the bloody tracker for them to see. " what are you talking about?" Dumbo asks, confused like the rest of them." dont you guys see? those lenses, these trackers, its all fake, man." Zombie says, inching closer to them but still keeping their distance." its an illusion, its a trick. they werent testing these. they were tesing us. they were seeing how we would do, how we would hold up under pressure. alright? if we would do what we were trained to do." Dumbo cuts him off" to kill Others!" he said, Zombie shakes his head" No, to kill the survivors man. to kill survivors" he says, raising his voice.

Elfie gulps." well, what about the guys outside, the ones that were shooting at us?" Flintstone asks, gun still raised. Elfie forget that he was still there." their human." zombie replies" why would the army want us to kill other humans?" Poundcake asks. Elfie steps up" because they're not humans" Zombie shakes his head yes, agreeing with her." and because were kids. they thought that they could manipulate us into doing their dirty work. " Zombie explains as they lowered their guns, slightly catching on. " we're not fighting the 5th wave. We are the 5th wave."

Dumbo opens his mouth to speak but nothing came out, he was too shocked to say anything. " Oh god" Ringer said, rolling her eyes as she pants." so... what do we do?" teacup asks. Zombie looks down" take out your trackers." he orders. everyone starts taking their knifes and doing that he said" we go AWOL. this means we can't go back; you know that right?" Flintstone asks. Elfie looks at Zombie." Nugget and Teddy" he suddenly says, " I left them back at the base" Elfie's eyes starts to tear up as he spoke" I was just trying to protect them" Elfie puts her hand over her mouth to stiffen her cries as she walks away. "jeez" Dumbo says. " I gotta go back" Zombie says," that's suicide, dude" Poundcake says sadly. "No man, I gotta go back" Zombie repeats." you can't just wander back in there. they'll know" Ringer spoke" I can't leave them there!" Zombie shouts." me and zombie, we'll put the tracker back in, they'll pick us up and we get nugget and teddy" Elfie says. Zombie nods to her plan" dumbo, where can we take a bullet to the torso and not die?" zombie asks. Dumbo goes wide eye, looking at the both of them" are you serious?" He asks. " I'm not kidding man. where can we take a bullet to the torso? we gotta make it look real. it's the only way we'll make it back in alive". 

" it's impossible, man. there's to many organs." Dumbo answers. " There has to be somewhere!" Elfie shouts. " Ringer, she can make the shot, Al l, right? I know she can" Zombie says, gesturing towards Ringer. " You want me to shoot you and Elfie?" Axe opens his mouth to disagree, but Zombie cuts him off" don't pretend like you haven't thought about it." Ringer gives in" where do you want me to shoot them?" she asks Dumbo, rolling her eyes.

After the amazing night that happened between Kayla and Evan, they fell asleep cuddled up against each other. hearing something off in the distance, Evan jumps awake. he quietly gets up to avoid waking up Kayla. He carefully opens the car door and quietly gets out. he closes the door behind him and looks around. " Evan Walker" a guy says, waking Kayla up." you're out of your drone sector" he says, pointing the gun at Evan. " hey. Put the gun down. Stay away" Evan warns him but the guy shoots him. Kayla jumps up as the car glass breaks, she pants in fright as she looks around. the guy throws Evan through the car window causing it to break. Kayla stares wide eyes at the scene that was unfolding infront of her. she didnt know if she should help Evan or not." Kayla! Run!" he shouts as the man drags him away. Kayla looks around for her gun" where is it?!" she quietly asks herself before she grabs it. a gunshot rang through the air.

 Kayla quickly grabs the gun but screams when a body was thrown into the dashboard window. she looks to see who it was," oh my gosh, Evan!" she says in shock as she stared at his motionless body that layed on the ground. she quickly grabs her bag to look for bullets before seeing the guy from before. he yells in agony as he runs straight for her, but Kayla uses her leg to kick him away from her before dashing out of the car from the opposite side. she falls to the ground as she tries to load her gun with bullets, but the guy was too fast. right as he was about to hit her, a fast creature suddenly pushed him out of the way. Kayla's eyes grew wide when she realizes it was Evan.  Kayla quickly uses the time to stand up and put her guard on.

she stood there, staring how inhumanly fast and strong Evan fought. another Other came, but Evan fought him, fighting them both. Kayla grew scared as she stared. right as Evan threw the last Other. Kayla points the gun at him as he slowly turns around to face her "drop the gun, Evan" she orders, her face no longer had the loving expression that it usually has, it was now replaced with a look of betrayal, hurt, scared and angry." drop it now!" she shouts. Evan drops the gun and holds his hands up to show her he wasn't going to hurt her, but it didn't matter to her " if I was going to kill you, Kayla. I would've done it a long time ago" he said, Kayla gulps" Are you one of them?" she asks with teary eyes. she was scared, she didn't know what to do." I'm human, but mi Other to. I'm both" He confessed. Kayla tightens the grip of the gun." you can't be both" she says.

"This isn't the first time the Others have been here. They came before and created sleeper agents, like me." he explained. Kayla swallows the big lump that sat in her throat, tears ran down her face as her eyes begun swelling."I always felt different. Growing up, there was this voice in my head. It was quiet, but it was there. And when the ship arrived." he paused" it was like a switch was flipped inside me, and the sleeper woke up" Kayla opened her mouth to speak" were you the one that killed your family?" she asked, Evan shook his head " no, the disease-" he tried to explain but she cut him off" didn't the Other create the disease- didn't you create the disease?" Kayla furrows her eyebrows, never once dropping her gun" didn't your family love you?" she asked." our kind believe that love is just a trick. An instinct. a way to protect your genetic future." he said, Kayla's heart sink" d-d-do you really b-believe t-t-t-that?" Kayla stutters.
