TIMEwas unpredictable.
It graced you in the sun with a million spotlights shining upon you and then cursed you in the darkness the moment you got used to it.
Amara felt as though time had something against her. When the handles ticked she lost someone ━ whether it was her mother from the chic new illness that scraped the country killing almost half the population and leaving the rest to death's hands with nothing more than a penny to survive. Or, it was her father, an innocent victim of stabbings from an Italian gang. And, it all led her far away from Birmingham, the birthplace that the curses of time erased the unearthly smoke, fragrance of liquor, sounds of bullets and smells of blood and replaced it with large jewels the size of squirrels worn on necks, ears and wrists. Sweet smells of perfume from the most exotic flowers along with silk, worth the same price of gold, sewn together and worn while costing twice each servant's salary. Amara had become spoilt in the lifestyle of the wealthy.
