The Vampire: The Life of Amon Part 1

Chapter 21

September 7th 1866

Preston Lancashire England 9am in Amons study in the Asmall estate. Lucas is telling him of what has transpired in America since the union had won the war against the conference. "Godfrey is dead, Irina is missing, Andrew is dead, the human male Hunter is dead and Catherine is missing and presumed dead just like Irina my Lord" Amon just stares at his glass of rum completely lost for words.

"What of the male Hunter?" Amon asked Lucas. "They say that a beautiful blonde haired female vampire killed him." Lucas states. "So that's safe to assume that it was most likely Catherine, because I couldn't picture Samantha killing a Hunter trained by my cousin." Amon says, Lucas looks at him then nods and takes a sip of his vodka. "Still no word on the beautiful brunette haired Hunter." Lucas tells him. "What happens now Lucas?" Lucas looks at him then takes another swig of his vodka that he got from Russia.

"The truth is that Godfrey was the leader of his line, like you had thought my Lord, as no one has seen Silas in a few thousand years, it's safe to assume that Godfrey has either killed him or trapped him somewhere. But by not having an heir to his line and with Irina missing presumed dead, all of Godfrey's assets will be shared out equally between the other 11 council members." Lucas tells him. "I bet Prince Leon will try and get all of Godfrey's diaries and scrolls and most of his library." Amon states, then takes a sip of his rum.

"The rumors are that Lilith is thinking of making you the council member." Lucas states. Amon just laughs. "She knows that I don't want it, and I'd never accept it. Is there anything else to add my friend?". He asked. "Samantha is presumed dead also and if you don't do something about Danielle, Persephone is going to kill her eventually. Most likely in her sleep as Danielle is the better fighter." Lucas says then takes another sip of his vodka.

"Let Persephone try to kill her or better yet why don't you and Emma have her?" he says with a straight face, Lucas just looks at him and laughs. "I'm stupid, but I ain't that stupid to even suggest that to Emma." They both laugh. "All things aside how are you doing Amon?" Amon takes a swig of his rum then pours himself another, Lucas notice this is his 10th drink since they've sat down an hour ago. "I can't move on until I know she's alive or dead." Amon says then puts his head in his hands.

Lucas looks at him, and he can see genuine sadness coming from Amon "I'm scared to ask this but what happens if she's dead?" Lucas asked him. Amon lifts his head from his hands and looks Lucas dead in the eyes. "You seriously don't want to know the answer to that question Lucas." Amon tells him, he then puts his head back in his hands. Lucas was about to ask him that he does need to know as Danielle and Persephone have both been pestering him to find out.

But before he can ask Amon the dreaded question. "Seriously it's 9am, and you smell like a tavern Benny boy". Amon and Lucas look towards the voice and Catherine is stood there with a massive grin on her face Amon jumps from his seat and rushes her into a massive hug. He begins to cry then says "I thought I'd lost you Cat" he kisses her lips in tender passion, and then she rests her head against his chest.

"You'll never lose me Benny boy and I hear that I have a niece." Amon can't help but smile at her. "You do, but it's daylight, so she's sleeping, like the entire house except me and Lucas" Catherine waves at Lucas, Lucas waves back "hello sire, glad you are alive and well, I was getting scared of what this big guy was going to do." Lucas laughed out.

Which made Catherine giggle. Catherine walks into the study and grabs an empty glass and sees a bottle of dark liquid and smiles, she walks over and smells it, she smiles and pours herself a glass. Goes and sits down on Amons desk and takes a sip of the drink "oh I've missed this drink". She says with a satisfying smile on her face. Lucas goes and sits back down on his chair In front of the desk and Amon sits behind his desk.
