We arrived in Pittsburg the day before Warped Tour would actually get there, I was so excited. The trip so far was amazing, we left 2 days ago from Buffalo, New York but took a longer route and stopped more frequently than normal people who are determined to get somewhere. We went down through Virginia, and through West Virginia then back up. We stopped a lot for shopping and for looking around the city we would stop in. There was time for us to check into the hotel and drop our things off before going out to explore. I think we were all excited since we were at the hotel closest to the grounds Warped was hosted at. Kendra had us all thinking we were in the same hotel that some of the bands were going to be staying at.
I sat on Sage and I's bed later that night as the girls decided to go one of the food places around the hotel, I was perfectly fine being in the hotel alone. It was around 11 so the hotel was relatively quiet, normal. Since I was starting to get bored, I decided to go walk around the hotel, just to explore. I slipped the key card in my back pocket and left the room bare footed in my pajamas. We were on the 3rd floor, and I walked around the bend to the stair case and decided to walk around instead of cheat and take the elevator. I left my phone in the room so I wouldn't know when the girls would get back, maybe I'll be able to hear them through out the hotel due to the fact that they are incredibly loud when they sneak a quick drink of alcohol.
I traveled up to the 5th floor of the 7 story hotel. My trip was actually really boring, the hotel was quiet. I sighed, I had pretty much given up on this little expedition of mine as I saw the other stair case on the other side of the hall came into my view. I heard the elevator door open, and out came 5 boys, they all had caramelized skin, dark hair and from what I could tell brown eyes. But the one that caught my eye was the boy with longer hair, tattoos beginning to creep down his arms, gages that were probably a size 2 or 0. He wore a black tank top with the band logo Metallica and a black and green DC snapback. I glanced down at my outfit before I felt someone just walk right into me, causing me to stumble back a little before I felt a tight grip on my fore arm. I glance up and it was the boy who I was admiring before.
"Woah, sorry there. I didn't mean to bump into you." The boy said, flashing me his smile, in which I noticed that he had snake bites.
I felt my cheeks flame up, probably turning them a bright pink. "Oh its okay. I should have been watching where I was going." I spoke in a near whisper, taking a step back and looking down at my feet. "I uh, should go. I'm sorry for not looking." I said as I step aside and walked past him, leaving him in the hallway as I go to the elevator. In the corner of my eye, I saw him standing there still, which made me nervous. I guess instincts from what happened before are starting to kick back in... The elevator door opened I quickly got in and pressed the button to take me to the 3rd floor. This elevator went down right by my room, so I would be able to get to my room quickly.
I get off the elevator and quickly get to the room, Sage and Kendra were already in the room and they looked at me weird as I entered the room. My mind was still on that boy...
"Where were you? We came back to the room and you were gone. You even left your phone." Kendra said, holding out my phone.
"I went exploring, I decided to check out the rest of the hotel is all. I got bored of waiting for you two to come back so I went out on my own." I answered as I plopped on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. I thought about how the boy grabbed me to keep me from falling. His grip was tight but it wasn't rough or aggressive. I don't really know how to explain it.
"Haha well you could have left a note, for all we know you could have been captured by crazy people." Sage said jokingly as she sat next to me on our bed. "We should try and get some sort of sleep tonight, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." She said as she threw a pillow at Kendra, starting a pillow fight between all of us. These are moments that I treasure with my friends, for they may end in a blink of an eye. Since I've fucked up everything else in my life.
We each lay laughing at each other as we settle down from our pillow fight. This road trip was basically to determine if we could deal with each other for a long period of time, other than just a weekend of continuously being with each other. So far, its been going really well. Slowly, my body grew tired, my eyes grew heavy and it was hard to keep them open. The room was silent, other than our breathing that was beginning to slow as we each slip into a deep sleep.
The next morning, the alarm clock went off to wake us up for Warped Tour. We needed to be there early so we could get in line, to beat the huge crowd. Kendra grumbled as she got out of bed and went to the bathroom right away. We all needed a boost with some sort of caffeine this morning.
Last night, that boy appeared in my dream. And it was the nightmare that happens frequently, but he saved me instead of the one who commits the terror in my dreams. I couldn't figure out what it meant, I mean for God sakes I had only bumped into him and said only a few words... Its not like I was going to ever see him again.
I crawled out of bed, opening my suitcase I got out my outfit for the day. I picked out a gray tank top with a black and white tiger in the middle, white high waist shorts, along with a black choker with a silver star in the middle, and I put in my black rose gauges. I could tell that today was going to be warm, so I was going to wear little black as possible. I slipped in my nose ring and on my batman bracket while I waited for my turn to use the bathroom. I glanced over at the alarm clock. It was only 7 in the morning. It was too early for this.
"Hey Im. Can you uh run down to the lobby and get us coffees? Please? They're free and I don't think Kendra is getting out anytime soon." Sage said as she sprawled out across the bed, her eyes never meeting mine.
I laughed at her and just shook my head. "You're so lazy, you just want to get into the bathroom before I do." I said sticking my tongue out as I walk around the bed to get my phone and a room key.
"Nnooo its because you love me." Sage protested, laughing as she glanced over at me.
"Fine, I'll go. Just because you love me so much." I said and shook my head as I headed towards the door. "Don't miss me too much." I called out as I walked out the door and started towards the elevator.
The lobby was quiet, a few people were checking out, probably to continue on with their road trip to where ever their destination was. The coffee pot was still brewing, so I sat at a small table, waiting for it to be done as I sat on my phone, scrolling through my Facebook news feed. There was a tall shadow that walked past me, probably checking out the coffee pot. I glance up, and it was the boy from yesterday. He was dressed for the day, in shorts and in a tank top, with the Star Wars theme to it. Quickly I looked down back at my phone, almost hoping that he wouldn't look over at me. But another part of me wanted him to notice me.
He didn't notice, which I was kind of relieved. But he just walked away once he noticed it would take a little while for the coffee to be done. Maybe he was in a rush? A few minutes passed and the coffee was done brewing. I made each of our coffee's and headed back to the room. Kendra was out of the bathroom and Sage was still in bed when I walked into the room.
"What took you so long?" Sage asked as she sat up in bed.
"The coffee pot wasn't done brewing, but hey be happy I'm back." I said as I handed her a cup before giving Kendra hers. "I'm going to get ready, enjoy your coffee." I said as I head to the bathroom. I apply natural looking eye shadow that brought out my light blue eyes. I really had no reason to wear makeup today, but if I am to see an attractive guy, I at least want a shot at them noticing me. I used a pale pink lip stick, barely noticeable. I brushed my hair, to detangle any knots before throwing my hair in a high bun.
I looked in the mirror and saw a girl who had no life in her eyes, but put on a mask every day to make sure that no one would worry about her. What my parents, what my family would say about me... Haunts me still to this day. I just wish I was born into a different family, one who would have cared about me, instead of just worrying about how much money that they were making and how they would have treated themselves with it. A family where they wouldn't call their own daughter a worthless piece of shit who will never compare to what her older brother was, be disappointed on how she will never go to the college they want her to go, let alone her career path that she would choose.
"Immy? You okay?" I heard Sage's voice, breaking my thoughts. I never even noticed the tears that were beginning to form in my eyes as I stood there.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just finishing up." I lied as I opened the door.
