Warped Tour in Philadelphia was a lot fun. I eventually stayed with Tony for the rest of the day, until pretty much the last show of the evening. Of course Kendra and Sage were beat so I ended up driving back to the hotel. Tony and the rest of the band just left on their tour bus so I didn't see them after we got back.
As Sage snored softly next to me, I laid wide awake. Something was bugging me. I don't know if it was because I spent the entire day with someone I had just met and not getting his number or the fact that I felt someone following us the entire day. It must just be my anxiety from being by so many people. A lot of girls who were at the show noticed I was with Tony and gave me dirty looks. But a few thoughts of my past flashed through my head, of course I would try to shake them off. While lost in my thoughts, I felt my body grow extremely tired.
My eyes fluttered open as the room was dimmed from the sunlight begging to creep in from behind the curtains. Sage and Kendra still laid sound asleep. I glanced over at the clock on the bed side table. It read 11:37, I knew we should get up and start to get packed. We needed to head out of here and get back on the road. I slipped out of the bed and picked out light faded denim shorts, a blue and white striped shirt and matching black bra and panties from my suit case before slipping in the bathroom. I smelled horrible, like sweat and beer that had been spilled on me, along with the mix of my faded perfume. I strip of pajamas before turning the shower to almost hot.
When I finally stepped out of the bathroom, Kendra was already up and on her phone in bed. I just laughed and shook my head at her. Sage began to stir a little in our bed, probably finally pulling out of her deep sleep.
"Morning guys. Finally awake?" I asked as I flipped on the small television.
I heard Sage grumble as she slowly dragged herself out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom. Kendra sat up and stretched her arms and looked over at me.
"We should pack up and get out of here, we need to get to Chicago by tonight." Kendra said and stood up and picked out her clothes for today.
I smiled, finally someone who had some common sense this morning, other than myself. I stood up and walked to the window, opening the curtains letting the sun flood the room.
Sage came out of the bathroom in something simple, almost pajama like. I laughed and shook my head. I could tell that Kendra and I would be taking turns driving today. Sage was more than likely hung over from yesterday. The room was silent, as sleep still fogged parts of our minds, as we collected our things that manage to scatter across the hotel room. I kept having thoughts flash from yesterday with Tony. It was weird for me, to have someone I just met be stuck on my mind...
After everything that happened with my ex-boyfriend, I can't bring myself to trusting a man anymore but, Tony seemed... Different. I don't think that boy has an evil bone in his body. But that's what I thought when I first met Robbie. God did that all change with in a few months. All over on a fight about my brother, whom he thought was another guy that he thought was cheating on him with.
"Imogen. Are you there?" Kendra said, starting show a little annoyance in her voice.
"What? I'm sorry, I was just thinking." I answered, my voice soft. I looked up at her and she smiled sweetly.
"Hun I'm not mad, I just had to get your attention. I called your name like five times." She said as she sat down next to me. "What were you thinking about?"
I took a deep breath and just smiled at her. "Just about the past I guess. With Robbie and everything." I said and looked down at my partially packed suit case.
"Immy that's in the past. We're going over 3,000 miles away from him, and your parents. So we can all start over new. Don't let them get in your way." Kendra spoke, I knew what she meant. I did need to move on from everything. I mean we were going across the country to start over, this was my chance.
"You're right. My parents haven't even called me. I don't think Tyler has even noticed that I left, since he is never home." I sighed. Tyler was the only one in my family who actually cared about me. But he was out of the house when I was 16 and was living with his girlfriend in a town outside of New York.
"I'm sure Tyler has noticed. You know how busy he is. We've only been gone for 3 days. I'm sure he'll call soon." Kendra said as she grabbed my hand. "Now lets finish packing so we can get out of here." Kendra winked before standing and moving over to her own suit case.
I knew Kendra was right. I just need to relax on this trip, I mean we were going to California after all. I was going to start college for nursing, which was amazing for me. I was smart with science and had always enjoyed it, along with caring for people. This was my time to start fresh, to forget about the past.
