Alternate Universe [Mahabharata]

Prologue

The morning rays of sun was scattering in the classroom. The whole classroom was silent and only sound of pen scribbling furiously on paper was heard as students were answering their chemistry exam. Finally the last paper!

Saanvi was seated on her seat leaning on the desk, her body tensed as she struggled to recall the formula. Her palms sweaty from the speed of writing. Glancing at the wall clock, still 15 mins to hand over the answer sheets. After answering her last question, saanvi felt a sense of satisfaction as she completed her exam within the time. Still she decided to rechecking her answerbook as she don't want to lose any marks.

After cross-checking, saanvi lazily stretched her body and glanced around the class. Everyone was so concentrated in writing their papers, feeling happy and proud that she finished first. She happily looked at her left side and her smile slowly disappeared.

'Ahh! There she is. How can I forget about her? But did she already finished?'

Feeling someone's gaze, shrishti looked at that person. Saanvi smiled and waved her hand carefully, not to get caught by teacher. But shrishti just looked out of the window without glancing back at her.

'Woah! Did she just ignore me?'

It seem to upset her how shrishti reacted. Saanvi always wanted to befriend with shrishti. She was not jealous or never hated the topper girl because of her grades. She was just wanted to be her friend maybe not best friend but a just friend would be fine, right?

Saanvi always felt bad because shrishti was an outcast, everyone thought she was rude and 'cold' behavioral. But in reality shrishti didn't like to interact with people much, she would prefer her own company. It was peaceful atleast for her.

Saanvi was not a top class girl, her grades were average. She didn't mind it but being at allies with a straight A student had it's advantages. I mean who wouldn't?.

'Like duh! Who wouldn't be friends with the class topper? But she- '

Her thoughts were interrupted by teacher calling roll no's to collect the answer books. She quickly submitted her answerbook to teacher and existed the exam hall. She patiently waited for shrishti to out. But suddenly, someone grabbed her arm pulling her to the side. She looked up to the person who tugged her hand and it was her best friend - Vaishnavi

'What a great timing!'

"How was your paper? Woah! I'm so happy! Atleat i'm sure of passing chemistry!" She happily asked

Saanvi again looked back in class which she existed-like just now- and found two-three kids of other class division still there talking about exam. And the person she was looking for was long gone.

She rolled her eyes confusing vaishnavi. "Whom are you searching for? Is it him?" She asked playfully nudging her best friend.

Saanvi widen her eyes to see if anyone heard them. "What?! Noo! I was waiting for shrishti until you came."

"Yeah, yeah lie to yourself! I know everything!". Well there is nothing you can hide from your own best friend, right?

"Come on! Shut up now! I need to get my bag." Saying that she started to search for her bag, to avoid any further teasing from her only friend knowing she won't back down easily.

Now vaishnavi was being dragged by saanvi.They were walking through the hallway. Suddenly we met our class-teacher. We greeted her and she told us that there is an announcement to be made and directly move to our class. As soon as their teacher left, they looked at each other."now what did those idiots do this time?". She asked very well knowing her classmates. "I don't know!" her best friend replied shrugging her shoulders.

She sighed, 'I can't go home soon enough' she thought. "Nevermind! Let's go!". they made their way to their classroom.
