Chapter 5

The unexpected guests

Ang-Pradesh

It was almost dawn, as the sun was rising above the horizon, chill breeze blowing making the surrounding more cool.

Ang-raj karn, was offering morning prayers to surya-dev near the banks of holy mother ganga as a start of new day. As past few days have been exhausting for him, handling political matters of his state, proving to be an excellent and ideal king to his citizens.

He was grateful for his new friend, prince of hastinapur, rajkumar duryodhan who not only offered friendship but gave him a kingdom.
He did not wished for any throne, he just wanted a recognition as an archer, the respect. That's all he needed.

As he finished offering his prayers, he saw few soldiers approaching him.
"Ang-raj ki jai ho!" They hailed.
Karn nodded in acknowledgement.

"Maharaj, we have noticed strange thing while patrolling. There are few kids around 17-16 year olds knocked unconscious at the banks of river". Karn frowned upon hearing this.
"Where are they?" He asked.

The soldiers lead the way, he saw 7-8 young kids lying on ground. "Maharaj, this man first saw them". Head soldier said pointing at old man.

"They don't seems to be from here, their clothes are also strangely peculiar". He further added.

"What were you doing here?" Karn asked suspiciously. "Maharaj, I was just passing by when I saw them unconscious".

Karn knew something was up, he noticed their strange clothing. He thought for a while and took the responsibility of taking them to the palace.

"Take them to rajvaid and get them checked up, report me when they gain consciousness". He ordered the soldiers after examining the unknown kids.

"Be careful!" He exclaimed while the guards were carrying the kids.

"shriman you have to be in court, as you were the first one to see them". He respectfully said and left.

Hastinapur

"We are doomed!" That's what left vanya's mouth after seeing the huge, not huge but massive palace in front of them. One must have only seen in dreams. It was that massive.

"Let's go inside!" The one in green dhoti, nakul said. "The evening court might have started, let us directly head there".Arjun said and started to  walk. Vanya was too shocked to even bother to ask Riddhi to translate it, everyone was. So they just followed them.

Vanya pinched herself incase if she's dreaming, hissing in process of feeling the pain.

'But how did we end up here....?'

She wondered, all rational thoughts leaving her mind. She closed her eyes and lightly slapped herself.

'Pull yourself together vanya! It's not time this."

Vanya glanced at her classmates faces, they were panicking, confused and maybe scared too. She needed to calm them down.

Vanya sucked in air cooling her mind, as so much thoughts were running inside her brain. "Hold on!" She said loud enough for the two princes to hear and halt their movements.
