Midnight found herself huddled against the harsh, icy floor of the juvenile prison, a place that had been her home since the tender age of four. But she wasn't just any ordinary girl; her eyes shimmered like frosty sapphires, and her hair flowed like the night sky, sprinkled with stars—a testament to the magic that dwelled within her.
"Slave no. 778B," barked the prison guard from beyond the metal bars, "Time for your duty. Move it! Your mother wouldn't want you lazing around!"
With a grating creak, the cell door swung open, and Midnight stepped out, stretching her hands expectantly, eager to shed the shackles that restrained her powers.
"Now's my chance," she whispered under her breath.
With a burst of determination, Midnight dashed down the dimly lit corridors, her heart pounding with anticipation. As she reached the nearest exit, she summoned her magic and blasted the steel gates wide open.
"Stop her!" shouted the guards, their voices echoing off the walls.
But Midnight was already on the move, racing into the thick of the forest, her senses sharp as she searched for the sanctuary of a teleporter. Spotting one in the distance, she sprinted towards it, her pulse quickening with every step.
"I can't go back there!" she cried out, her voice trembling with fear.
With a leap of faith, Midnight threw herself into the strange, egg-shaped contraption, her fingers flying over the myriad of buttons and glowing lights.
"I have no idea how this works!" she admitted to herself, panic rising in her chest.
But there was no time to hesitate. With a flick of her wrist, she activated the teleporter, praying that it would take her far away from the clutches of her captors. As the device erupted in a blinding explosion of light, Midnight vanished into the unknown, leaving the guards bewildered and baffled in her wake.
