Evangeline was a fairy, although she didn't feel like one after the accident. Fairies were supposed to bring positivity to the world, they were supposed to save lives, not end them.Evangeline couldn't quite figure out her new magic but her father told her Alfea was the best place for her to learn. However, Evangeline knew deep down that her father just wanted her to leave. He couldn't control her or her magic, he knew that. He also couldn't bare the pain of looking at her every day. A constant reminder of what she did.
To the world, Evangeline was a mind-fairy. No one knew of the danger she posed, only her and her father. And Evangeline would like to keep it that way.
And so, here Evangeline was, walking through the gates of Alfea. All she wanted was a fresh start, somewhere she can control her magic without harming others. Alfea would give her that.
Walking through the courtyard, Evangeline picked up on everyone's feelings; excitement, fear, happiness. Before she knew it, she was engulfed by everyone else's emotions and unable to feel her own. She hated being a mind fairy, it drove her insane never experiencing her own emotions unless she physically blocked everyone else out.
Lost in her thoughts and others' feelings, Evangeline failed to notice someone walking in her line of path. Before she could look up, she collided with another person. She looked up, immediately trying to apologise before realising she could only feel her emotions as she looked into his eyes.
The boy looked her up and down before smirking at her, "I'm Riven, a second year specialist." Evangeline paid more attention to his appearance, he had brown hair that was clearly dishevelled on purpose and blue eyes that held little to no emotion.
"Evangeline, first year mind fairy, hey do you know-"
A third person interrupts their conversation, "Come on, Riv, stop perving on the first years." A taller blonde boy makes his way over, "I'm Sky".
"Evangeline, sorry would love to stay and chat but I'm supposed to be meeting Stella, do any of you know where she is?" Riven looks at Sky expectantly, who then points over to the corner of the courtyard, revealing a blonde girl and a shorter red haired girl.
Huffing out a breath, Evangeline thanked the taller boy and dragged her suitcase along the gravel to meet with Stella, a second year fairy who was supposed to show to show her and another girl around. Upon meeting Stella, Evangeline inspects the other girl. She had red hair and soft features but the most prominent aspect of her was her American accent, a complete contrast to the sea of British ones surrounding them.
Stella mumbles something about Evangeline being late before turning into the Fairy building. The mind fairy walked behind Stella and Bloom, admiring her surroundings before tuning into their conversation.
"Miss Dowling tells me this is your first time in the Otherworld." That explains the accent, Evangeline thinks to herself. "I hope your trip was painless"
"Miss Dowling gave me a time and location where there'd be a gateway. It was in the middle of nowhere so it wasn't exactly convenient" Bloom says.
Evangeline zones out of the conversation, already bored of Stella's monotone voice and Bloom's overwhelming feeling of excitement. Evangeline places her noise cancelling headphones over her head, tuning out their conversation and their feelings.
After Stella's tour of the school, she takes both fairies to Miss Dowling's office, since she wants to speak with them. Bloom goes in first, talking to her for a while before exiting the office and requesting Evangeline's presence.
"Evangeline, please take a seat." Miss Dowling instructs, gesturing to the chair on the other side of her desk. Evangeline does as she says, taking the seat opposite her. "Now, I'm sure you're slightly overwhelmed with all that's happened. And although this isn't knew for you, environment wise, I know you've discovered something. New abilities, if you will."
