The others in the suite had already left to attend the orientation party, so Evangeline was left to arrive alone. Walking through one of the hallways that lead to the courtyard, she was quickly attacked by everyone's feelings.
Only for a bit, She reassured herself again.
Reluctantly, Evangeline walked through the courtyard after spotting Musa and Terra speaking to another girl. Evangeline made her way over.
"Oh! Evangeline, this is Jade. She's a first year specialist!" Terra introduces the girl.
"Hey, I'm Evangeline." She says, offering Jade a smile.
"I'm Jade," She introduces glancing over Evangeline's shoulder, "I'm really sorry, but my roommate is over there and apparently she needs me...?" Jade points to another girl at the other end of the courtyard who is frantically waving Jade over. The specialist bids the fairies goodbye before leaving.
"Where's Aisha? I thought she came here with you two?" Evangeline asks, curious as to where the water fairy had disappeared to.
"She went for a swim apparently she goes-"
"Two times a day, right?" Evangeline finishes off her sentence. "Yeah, I heard her earlier."
"Wait, I thought you weren't in the suite then, and you had your headphones on?" Terra questions the two mind fairies, the hurt she was feeling clearly evident to both Musa and Evangeline. "I knocked at your door and you didn't answer. Never mind it was stup-"
"Terra I had my headphones on as soon as I entered my dorm. They're noise cancelling, I wasn't ignoring you on purpose." Evangeline gives Terra a genuine smile, noticing how her shoulders tense slightly less. "On that note, I'm going back up to the dorm," Evangeline glances down at her phone, "I lasted a total of 11 minutes and 32 seconds." She states, seemingly proud of herself. The two other fairies bid her goodbye, watching her walk away.
As she was about to go up the stairs that lead to the suite, until she noticed a certain red haired fairy making her way outside. Curious, Evangeline follows after her, along the field and across the barrier. Out of pure curiosity, Evangeline continued to follow Bloom, not interrupting whatever was happening.
Making sure to keep herself hidden, Evangeline stands behind one of the larger trees in the forest. She observes Bloom, watching her struggle to produce magic until she looks at something on her phone and Evangeline immediately senses the change in Bloom's emotions. Eventually, flames appear out of Bloom's left hand as she stands in the open land, admiring her own magic as it grows stronger.
However, Evangeline soon notices Bloom lose control of the flames and watches as she throws her arms around, the ground beneath her starting to catch fire.
"Bloom!" Evangeline leaves her spot behind the tree, approaching Bloom with caution.
"No! Stay back, I'm dangerous!" Bloom continues to flail her arms around her, one of the flames almost hitting Evangeline.
"Bloom, it's okay. Please, just calm down and let me help you!" Sensing the growing danger, Evangeline's emotions heightened as the power of the magic coursing within her amplified. Evangeline knew she had to control the magic, but she didn't quite know how.
Before Bloom could lose control any longer, Aisha appeared. Although, Evangeline couldn't understand what they were saying to each other as she took a step back and struggled to contain her magic. Leaning against a tree, Evangeline took deep breaths in an attempt to control her emotions, as they seemed to trigger the more powerful magic. The magic made her feel faint and dizzy, lost in her own mind.
It was only when a water barrier appeared around the flames and engulfed them did Evangeline return to reality.
The walk back to the school was deathly silent. Bloom would occasionally glance at both Aisha and Evangeline before returning her gaze back to the ground. Evangeline knew Bloom felt an insane amount of regret, she could feel it, but she didn't have the energy to comfort her. Whatever it was, the power she had possessed in the woods was much more powerful than ordinary fairy magic.
