The day had dawned bright and clear, the sun's rays illuminating the grand mansion that stood tall amidst the lush greenery.

Maria, the long-serving maid of Lorenzo, moved about the mansion with practiced ease, her steps echoing in the grand hallways. She was a petite woman with a face that was a map of the many years she had spent serving the house. Her eyes, usually filled with warmth and kindness, today held a trace of unease, a premonition of something amiss.

As she made her way to Lorenzo's study room, a room that was usually off-limits, she felt a chill run down her spine. The door was ajar, a sight she had never seen in her years of service. With a trembling hand, she pushed the door open.

The sight that met her eyes was something she would never forget. Lorenzo, the man she had served faithfully for years, lay still on the floor, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. His usually vibrant face was pale, a stark contrast to the crimson pool slowly spreading beneath him.

A gasp escaped her lips as she fell to her knees, her heart pounding in her chest. "Señor Lorenzo," she whimpered, her voice barely a whisper. But Lorenzo remained silent, his lifeless eyes staring into the void.

With a shaking hand, Maria reached for her phone, her fingers clumsily dialing the number she knew by heart but prayed she would never have to use. "Police," she stammered into the receiver, her voice choked with tears. "Something has happened to Señor Lorenzo. Please come right away."

As she ended the call, Maria couldn't help but look back at Lorenzo, her heart aching with sorrow.

The mansion was soon swarming with police, their stern faces and brisk movements a stark contrast to the usually tranquil atmosphere. Maria watched from a distance, her heart heavy with grief and her mind buzzing with unanswered questions.

Detective Ramos and Detective Samiara, a seasoned officer with a reputation for solving the most complex cases, was leading the investigation. He and Samiara had a stern face, with deep-set eyes that missed nothing. As Detective Ramos moved around the study, his eyes scanned the room meticulously, taking in every detail.

Maria was called in for questioning. Sitting across from Detective Ramos, she felt a chill run down her spine. His piercing gaze seemed to see right through her, making her feel exposed, vulnerable.

"Can you tell me what happened?" he asked, his voice steady and devoid of emotion. Maria recounted the morning's events, her voice barely above a whisper. She told him about finding the door ajar and discovering Lorenzo's lifeless body.

Detective Ramos and Detective Samiara listened intently, his gaze never leaving her face. When she finished, he thanked her and asked her to stay within the mansion premises until the investigation was concluded.

As the day wore on, the mansion seemed to grow colder and darker. The laughter and lively conversations that once filled its halls were replaced by an eerie silence. The only sounds were the occasional whispers of the police officers and the distant siren of an ambulance.

Maria retreated to her quarters, her heart heavy with sorrow. She couldn't shake off the image of Lorenzo's lifeless body. It seemed like a nightmare that she couldn't wake up from.

As she sat on her bed, a single tear rolled down her cheek. She had lost not just her amo, but a friend. Lorenzo, with his kind heart and gentle smile, had been more than just a master to her.

even though Lorenzo was not kind to Maria, Maria fell in love with Lorenzo.
