TO SAY CASSIE WAS AWKWARD when first meeting Winnie and Daphne would be an overstatement. The girls all expected Cassie to be shy and quiet, but she was far from it. In fact, Winnie and Daphne had begun to call her 'Cassie the Chatterbox'. Ever since she got there, she hadn't stopped talking to Dahlia's parents. She even helped them prepare dinner, which they were all currently eating.
"You girls told us she was shy," Daphne said, "All she's done all day is talk our ears off."
"Yeah," Winnie grinned, "Have you heard her story about when she threw a crystal ball at her father's head when she was younger?"
Dahlia, Megan, Susan and Hannah burst into laughter as Cassie innocently smiled at them.
The rest of the week passed by in a blur, and soon enough, the group were sat in a tent (which Winnie and Daphne struggled to put up), getting ready to watch the Quidditch World Cup. "Have you seen your other friends yet?" Megan asked Cassie.
"No," Cassie replied. "Unfortunately, I really wanted to see—"
"Your boyfriend?" Susan and Hannah asked simultaneously.
"Who?" Cassie replied, her eyebrows furrowing. And then, she remembered her little lie to the girls. "I'm just kidding! Obviously I know who my boyfriend is. Yes, I did want to see him, it's been so long."
"I just saw Arthur Weasley," Daphne said as she entered the tent. "He's a couple of tents down—He's got a whole gang with him."
Hearing this, Cassie felt a huge smile appear on her face. "Go see them," Winnie said sweetly, "Be back in half an hour, though, or I'll send one of the girls to get you in an embarrassing way."
Cassie nodded and hugged the two adults before rushing out. She looked around, squinting her eyes. She thought it would be easy to spot a group of gingers, clearly, she was wrong. And then, she heard a very familiar voice, "CASSIE!"
She felt herself get knocked over as someone tackled her into a hug. Hearing her name get shouted, everyone else left the tent one by one to see the girl lying on the floor, Ron on top of her.
"Get off my sister, you knob!" Callie hissed, kicking Ron and pulling Cassie up. Cassie was laughing hysterically. "Breathe, Cass."
They all watched in amusement as Cassie tried to stop laughing, but failed. "He just — he just flopped on top of me!" She laughed, fanning her face.
Eventually, she calmed down. "Mr. Weasley," Aurora said, "This is Cassie, the girl we've all told you so much about in the past week."
Callie hugged Cassie tightly, before Cassie was pulled into someone else's embrace. Harry. She knew it was him by his scent. "Hi, Harry," she mumbled into his chest.
"Quit hogging her, Harold!" Hermione exclaimed. In annoyance, Harry pulled out of the hug and Hermione quickly took his place.
Fred and George smiled brightly at Cassie. "Want another toilet seat?" Fred asked, his hand going into his pockets.
"Or even better," George smirked, "A ton-tongue toffee?"
"No, thanks," Cassie muttered as Fred and George quickly messed up her hair. "I'll pass."
"Is this a family reunion or something?"
"Mum." Cassie awkwardly acknowledged, before her heart started to beat rapidly. Images of tents on fire were burned into her mind. Images of Fran's nearly lifeless body... "What are you doing here? I think you should go home, y'know. You'll have so much fun there."
Callie, Hermione, Harry and Ron watched the girl weirdly. Why on Earth was she trying to send Fran home?
"Nonsense!" Fran exclaimed, "We're here to enjoy the Quidditch World Cup, aren't we, Fleamont?"
Beckett appeared from behind Fran, and Cassie shared a glance with Callie.
Beckett nodded. "I'm so excited!" He exclaimed. "Are they my sisters? — Oh, look, Mum, can we go get some candy floss?"
Fran sighed. "I'll see you guys later. . . Enjoy." And with that, she lead Beckett towards the candy floss stand.
Cassie watched her mother walk away, a sad look washing over her face. She knew she was just being paranoid. Every single bad dream she's had, she thought would be real. Since finding out she was a seer, she's been on edge. She had no clue which dreams of hers were real, and which were fake. To her, it was better to be safe than sorry.
She frowned. She hadn't had a singular dream about this place, those images had come out of nowhere. Once more, her heart started to beat rapidly. Something bad was going to happen here, she could feel it.
"Are you okay, Cass?" Harry asked quietly as the others went back into the tent. Callie, Ron and Hermione waited by the entrance to the tent for them both.
Cassie, blinking away her tears, nodded her head. "Yeah," she said, biting the dry skin on her lips.
Nobody pressed her further, Callie had already told them about their secret sibling and how affected Cassie appeared to be by it. None of them knew the real reason behind her anxiety-riddled state.
"Come on," Harry grabbed her hand and lead her into the tent, followed by Callie, Ron and Hermione.
"Ron, get out of the kitchen, we're all hungry!" Mr. Weasley was saying when they entered the tent. Cassie looked around their tent. It was quite similar to the Morgan's.
"Yeah, get out of the kitchen, Ron!" Fred and George copied, placing their legs on top of the small, circular table in the kitchen of the tent.
Mr. Weasley shot the twins a harsh look, and pointed in their direction. "Feet off the table!" They took their feet off when their father was looking, but placed them back onto the table straight away, copying their father's words.
Ten minutes later, Cassie stood up and sent them all smiles. "I'm going to head back to my tent," she told them, "I'll see you all later."
"I'll walk you." Harry stood up, grabbed Cassie's hand and walked with her out the tent, and down to the Morgan's. "How are you? Y'know, after everything that happened with your mum, your dad and—?"
"I'm better now," Cassie answered, "At first, I was devastated, but being with the girls. . . They managed to help cheer me up, so thanks to them, I'm feeling a lot better."
"I'm glad to hear that," Harry stated as they stood outside the Morgan's tent. As Cassie looked at him, she couldn't help but notice he had grown his hair, a lot, and he needed a haircut. It was the same with the Weasley boys. Cassie thought they were competing for who could grow the longest hair by the end of the year.
"Hello, lovebirds!" Dahlia said, poking her head out of the tent. Harry and Cassie blushed. "Hate to break your conversation up, but Cassie, we need to choose an outfit."
Cassie smiled, and turned to face Harry. "I'll see you later?" She said hopefully.
