"Back to your seat!" You heard coach Finstock said right after he blew the whistle, pointing at the guy that was leaning his head on the back rest of your seat, smiling at you. The boy groaned and walked away while you looked down and coughed trying to cover up the chuckle that was getting away.

As you watched the guy walking to his seat up front, you saw Boyd turn to Isaac and tell him something that made Isaac's clenched jaw seem to clench more before Isaac himself turn to the werewolf beside him and reply in an angry looking manner which made your brows furrow.

Typical you thought in annoyance.

After almost 3 hours passed, the bus just kept going and going and you sat there with a good friend of yours you had math class with-who was a guy-much to Isaac's dismay.

"Ugh," He groaned, resting his head on the back rest of your seat. "When is this going to end?"

While he complained beside you, occasionally making conversation with you on your childhood together and teasing you by poking your shoulder, you, on the other hand, managed to not get bored on the ride since you were worried sick about the Alpha at the back who was still bleeding. Stiles would sometimes walk and try to squeeze himself beside you on the seat and update you on what was happening, before asking what was wrong with Isaac and why'd he kept looking your way.

"Hey," a voice called your attention, making you look up from your phone and come face to face with a guy with a wide smile and pretty green eyes.

"Hi," you replied, trying to sound friendly and hide the irritation and worry you were feeling right now.

"So is it true that you and Lahey-" You cut him off immediately, fed up with all the people in school knowing you and your ex's current relationship status.

"I think you should stop," the friendly tone in you now gone, giving this pretty boy in front of you a pissed off expression.

"Well, when we get back from the meet, do you want to-"

You were saved when you heard the infamous whistle of the coach before he shouted to the guy to sit his ass down. Because of this, the coach decided to walk the isle on the bus, scolding some students who were making out, not in their seat, or standing up.

"Jared, again." You heard the coach talk to the poor kid. "Car sick. Everyt-How did you even get on the bus?"

The kid just whimpered, trying to look at the window at the same time at the man talking to him.

"Look at me," the coach said. "No, don't look at me. Keep your eyes on the horizon." he immediately said, seeing that the boy turned to a much more paler color.

To say the least, Stiles' plan of getting off the bus worked because of Jared.

"Good job, Stiles." You congratulated him, patting his shoulder as you finally stepped on solid ground.

From the corner of your eye as people piled out of the now smelly school bus, you saw Isaac holding on to a guy's arm with a death grip as he dragged him out of sight. This instinctively told you to follow them before any further accidents would happen.

Once you approached the corner where Isaac and the student turned, you saw him about to punch the lights out of the poor kid before you called him out. Once the guy ran his way back to the cluster of students, you walked in front of the werewolf.

"Isaac what was that?" You asked in a serious tone, your arms crossed on your chest.

"Isaac," you called him again when he didn't reply, his eyes still on the ground.

"Isaac what's your problem?" you asked, your eyes squinting a bit from the sun.

"My problem is guys hitting on you, talking to you-"

"Last time I checked, I was single." At this, you saw Isaac's features softened.

The territorial wolf in Isaac wanted to claw its way out and get you back since you were right in front of him and not several seats away, wanting your affection and attention only for him and not on anyone else.

"Isaac look, it was your choice to take a step back from the relationship and here you are-"

"I'm sorry." Those words left his mouth made you confused, and right now you were starting to get teary-eyed because you were hurting again-your feelings getting toyed around again-after almost 5 months of the break-up.

"I'm sorry?"

"I'm sorry because I was scared. Because everything I love leaves me or hurts me back. And then there's the alpha pack threat. I didn't know what else to do" He explained. "I thought that by calling it off it'd be ok, but I just felt sad and angry..."he trailed off, emotionally frustrated and tired.

"I want you back-need you." He added.

"But Isaac you do you know that it won't be that easy." You said with tears threatening to spill, you heart aching because you yourself also need him back in your life.

"I got hurt too-got mad." You said.

"I know," he said in defeat. "I just want to still have a chance."

You slightly smiled at this despite how confused you were feeling about this handsome boy in front of you.

"Does the smile mean I still do?" He asked hopeful.

"Yeah, you still do." You answered, you smile widening, wiping away the tears that escaped before sniffing.

He smiled before closing the gap between you to give a kiss on your lips but you dodged it, making him kiss your forehead instead.

He looked at you confused when he retrieved.

"Baby steps, Lahey." You said, making him smile.

When you finally started walking towards the students were piling back on the bus, he held you hand, making you look at him.

"Baby steps." He said.
