Light for the Dark

Chapter 16

Persephone's alarm blares, waking her up. She looks around taking in the wonderful morning. Today she is going to walk across the stage and grab her degree that she has been working hard to get for four years.

The past week she passed all her finals with flying colors and finished planning her graduation party with Maria in record time. They decided on a freak show themed party.

On Monday she had to have Vladimir bring her tampons because she didn't realize she was out of them and she desperately needed some. Luckily he remembered what to get from the last time she had her period when they were recovering from their injuries after the accident.

Persephone plugs in her curling iron and throws on the balck and white striped dress her mom had bought her a couple days ago. She throws on some dark nylons. She curls every piece of hair on her head. She thinks back Vladimir's weird behavior throughout the week like when they hung out she wanted to listen to music on his laptop and he quickly grabbed it away from her then after fiddling with it gave it to her already on youtube. After that so many awful thoughts buzzed in her head.

The sharp pain of her fingertip jerks her back to reality and she lets the hair fall from the shaft. She keeps the curl in her hand so it doesn fall out while its cooling, she learned that technique from Sabrina.

Vladimir walks in to her room " Hey gorgeous. Do you need help with the rest of your hair?"

"Yeah I might actually. Can you finish up while I do my makeup?" Persephone says handing Vladimir the curling iron carefully.

She swipes black shadow onto her crease and to the outer corner making a cat eye like shape. She careful cuts her crease with concealer only on half of the eye then back a red glitter eyeshadow on top. She skips eyeliner for now and moves to put a dark nude liquid lipstick on. She carves out the outside shape carefully then fills it in swishing her lips around to moves the color around. Once satisfied with that she blots her lips with a napkin. She does her eyeliner quickly now that Vladimir was done curling her hair and turn to lool at he man.

"How do I look?"she asks.

"You look stunning babe. Not like i'm surprised because you always look amazing," Vladimir coos.

She give him a kiss on the cheek then grabs her cap and gown, throwing it on quickly. Persephone grabs her phone and tucks it into the pocket of he dress then throws on a pair of shoes that match her dress and march down the stairs the the parent paparazzi waiting with phones in hand.

Cassandra manages to catch a picture of Vladimir kissing Persephone cheek and smiles. She glances at the time "Ooo we should get going before parking fills up."

"Yeah we should. Vladimir do you want to ride with us? It will make life a little easier," Lennard persuades.

"Yeah. I would love to ride over with you guys," Vladimir says politely.

"Alright well let's get to the car and go," Cassandra says already out the door with the car keys in her hands.

Vladimir opens the door for Cassandra and helps her inside then help his own woman into the car, sliding in next to her.

Driving down the road Vladimir watches Persephone struggle to position her cap on her head so it stays in place and pulls out some bobby pins from his shirt pocket and pins the cap in place.

Persephone looks at him in surprise. She was grateful he had the bobby pins and helped her put the cap on her head but she couldn't believe it. His behavior is like something straight from a movie. He is super sweet and considerate, takes a lot of care of her and spoils her rotten. He was polite in the streets but an absolute beast in the sheets and most importantly, loyal.
