A start of something troublesome

In Karuizawa's room.

Hirata quickly bash through the door to see the situation. What he saw was Karuizawa laying in her bed and his smart, awkward friend looking like he just saw a dead person.

"Hirata did you bring anyone else with you?" Kazuya said.

"No, I know this problem is my fault especially sinc-" Kazuya stops him from talking farther.

"Shhhh. You'll wake her up."

Hirata nodded and Kazuya led him to one of the cafe on the ship.

"Coffee?" Kazuya asks. And Hirata refuses.

"Hirata... Will you protect Kei from someone else, who's also in our class?"

"Well, I'll protect everyone if that person from our class is in the wrong."

Kazuya shakes his head.

"Let me rephrase that. do you think you have the power to protect her?"

".... I'm not as smart as you Kazuya-kun but I'll use all my strength to protect her from other's wrong doings."

"Hmm......You know? They say that bubble gum can help you get rid of the urge to smoke cigarettes."
"But I'm trying it and all it does is just giving me cavities."

Hirata laugh at the joke not knowing where Kazuya was going with it.

"Hirata, the reason I asked you those questions was simple, really."
"the person that did this to her wasn't after her, he was after me."
"basically what I want to say is I'm stepping back from being the leader of this class. and I want you to be my replacement."

"where are you going to go? Kazuya-kun."

"I not going anywhere, I'll still be in class helping you with leading the class, I just need to focus on something important right now."

...

after that they talked about the exams how Kazuya figured out the leaders and VIPs. but after that-

"-So are you still dating Kei?"

"I'm sure Kazuya-kun is smart enough to figure it out on your own but I'll tell you anyway. me and her wasn't even dating for real, and that's why we're not  moving up in our relationship because there isn't a relationship to move up."
"is Kazuya-kun in love with Karuizawa-san?"

"yeah, you could say that."

"You don't have to mind me at all."

"I know."
"how's Kikyo?"

"huh? oh, there's no difference in her that I can see at all from her usual self, well other than you and her doesn't seem to talk anymore."

"Good for her."

Kazuya gets up from the seat.

"Yo, Hirata In a few weeks I might look like I'm dying but trust me I'm completely fine." he puts a hand on Hirata's shoulder. "Trust me on that. and I already paid for the tab by the way." and then he left.

In Karuizawa's room

Kazuya POV: How? and where? I first need more intel on him. then I also need a plan to go against him and everything he stands for. This whole situation is just a mess. I'm not even sure, why I'm planning all of this. there's no way I'm going to do it. . . . . .
