Johnson sat against the tree listening to his music and writing poems.

Gilinsky was screwing around with his longboard on the slab of concrete with Sammy and some girl named Aliyah.

"Hey, look" Sammy said as he punched Gilinsky's arm and pointed to the little blonde under the tree.

"yeah, what about him" gilinsky shrugged

"should we screw with him" Sammy asked chuckling

"dude, I don't feel like it" gilinsky said slightly clenching his teeth

"that Johnson kid is kinda cute" Aliyah said smiling and biting her lip

"ew, he's a fag" Sammy said snarling a disgusted lip

"don't say that, he's gay, Aliyah" gilinsky said with anger poking out in his voice.

"what's with you and Johnson anyway? why are you protecting him?" Sammy asked gilinsky sternly.

"why are you so mean to him? he never did anything to you!" gilinsky yelled in Sammy's face.

"he's a low life loser, jack. we're just trying to have fun" Sammy said backing away.

"DOES THIS LOOK LIKE FUN TO YOU, SAMMY?! HURTING INNOCENT PEOPLE?!" Jack said screaming at the top of his lungs.

Aliyah then backed away from the boys and sat under the tree with Jack.

Johnson looked startled as the attractive brunette smiled at him.

He unplugged his earbuds and looked at Aliyah.

"hi?" Johnson yelped out.

Aliyah giggled and said "hey, jack right?"

Jack gulped and nodded.

"I'm Aliyah" she smiled brightly.

Johnson smiled back and noticed the girl staring at his notebook.

he quickly shut it and hid the book.

Gilinsky then practically stomped over to Aliyah and Johnson.

The two gasped at the sight of the beat up tall brunette.

his clothes and hair were ruffled up and he had a few scratches on his face.

"what the hell?" Aliyah yelled as she looked behind to the concrete slab to see Sammy gone.

"Yeah he went back home" Jack said as he sat down next to Johnson.

"what happened?" Johnson said nervously

Johnson was confused as to why Aliyah and Jack were hanging out with HIM.

"aw, he's just being an ass" gilinsky shrugged

Johnson gulped and packed up his stuff.

"I better be heading home" Johnson laughed shakily and getting up.

"let us walk you home" gilinsky said gesturing to him and aliyah.

"uh, no it's okay" Johnson laughed.

"please jack?" Aliyah asked getting up with gilinsky.

"I guess, but I thought you guys hated me" Johnson said looking up at gilinsky.

"never!" Aliyah gasped.

Johnson smiled and looked into Gilinsky's dark eyes.

"I'm over the whole fight, jack" gilinsky smiled.

Johnson sighed in relief and smiled.

"so, where do you live?" Aliyah asked as they all left the school's field.

"over by H.J.'s pharmacy, on Almar Avenue" Johnson replied.

"that's pretty far, you think we'll be there by 7:30?" gilinsky asked looking up at the darkening sky.

"yeah, why?" Johnson asked.

"my curfew is at 8" gilinsky sighed.

Johnson nodded as they crossed the street.

"bye jack" Aliyah said hugging johnson.

Johnson was surprised, he guessed that she was just extremely affectionate.

Johnson hugged her back and smiled when she removed from the hug.

"see ya lil JJ" gilinsky smiled waving at Johnson.

Johnson burst with happiness as he waved and shut the door behind him.

he slumped down the door until his butt hid the ground.

he was flowing with happiness and had a heavenly look on his face, which his mom noticed.

"what's with you, honey?" she laughed.

"nothing, just had a good day" jack said smiling.
