"The aquarium I thought we were going to universal" Chris said whining.

"it's raining stupid" Matt says rolling his eyes.

I was on my phone getting messages from the doctor not hearing what was going on around me.

"you alright?" I look up to Nick who looked concerned.

" yeah I'm fine" I said nodding my face

He lifted one eyebrow and carried on getting out the car.

As we walked towards the entrance of the aquarium, the rain continued to patter lightly against the umbrellas we held. I couldn't shake the feeling of Chris's gaze on me. As we headed inside the aquarium I heard a car pull up behind us. I turned around to the sight of Ellie hopping out her car. Matt ran towards her giving her a big hug. I was sort of jealous of the sight that he had never done that to me.

"enough chitter chatter" Nick yelled as he was standing at the gate with the tickets. I shook off what I had just seen and carried on moving through the entrance.

Inside the aquarium, it was calm and peaceful, with the gentle hum of water tanks in the background. We decided to go in groups. I wanted to go with Matt as I felt a bit distant from him since I came, but it looked like he already had his eye on someone else. I noticed Chris looking at me, but I couldn't tell what he was thinking. "Chris" Wanna be my partner? I asked wandering over to him. "sure, he said with a slight smirk. We strolled around, amazed by the beautiful fish swimming in their tanks. We stopped by a tank filled with vibrant tropical fish, their colors dancing under the soft glow of the aquarium lights. Chris leaned in, pointing out different species and sharing interesting facts about them. I found myself getting lost in his explanations, enjoying the way his eyes lit up with enthusiasm.

As we moved on to the next exhibit, I couldn't shake off the feeling of curiosity about Chris's behaviour. There was something different about him today, something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Was it just my imagination, or did he seem more distant than usual?

"Is everything okay?" I asked, breaking the silence between us.

Chris hesitated for a moment, his expression unreadable. "Yeah, everything's fine," he replied, his voice a bit softer than usual.

I decided not to ask further, respecting his privacy. Instead, we continued our exploration of the aquarium.

As we reached the end of our tour, Chris turned to me with a small smile. "Thanks for being my partner," he said, his eyes meeting mine for a fleeting moment before he looked away.

The rest of the day passed in a blur although I had a continuously nagging feeling of unease in the back of my mind.

As night fell and we made our way back home, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. And as I lay in bed that night, staring up at the ceiling, I couldn't help but wonder what secrets layed in Chris's

mind. We finished out tour and went back to the car to grab some lunch from the drive through and go home.
