I was on my phone looking through Instagram when an account pops up. It was Matt's other account since when did he have another account. I clicked on it my heart sank as realization washed over me. Matt had been dating Kate the entire time I'd been here, sneaking off to spend time with her while I was left wondering where he'd disappeared to.

Anger and hurt boiled within me, threatening to consume every other emotion. How could he do this to me? How could he lead me on while carrying on a relationship behind my back? I stormed into Matt's room, tears clouding my vision. "How could you?" I choked out, hurt and anger burning inside me.

Matt's expression defensive "What's your problem?" he snapped back

"My problem?" I said , letting my temper get the better of me "You've been lying to me this whole time, sneaking around with her while pretending to be my friend!"

Matt's eyes flashed with irritation. "You don't understand," he began, but I cut him off.

"Don't even try to explain," I interrupted, my voice trembling. "I trusted you, Matt, but I guess I shouldn't of."

Silence filled the room. I could see the guilt in Matt's eyes. "I'm sorry," he muttered, but it was too late. Without letting him speak I stormed out of the room, tears filling my eyes, and headed downstairs to Chris's room. Chris was sitting on the couch, watching a movie, but he looked up as I entered.

"Mya, what's wrong?" he asked, as he saw the tears streaming down my cheeks.

I couldn't speak, the words caught in my throat as I struggled to compose myself. But Chris knew me well enough to understand without me saying a word. He pulled me onto the couch and I laid my head on his shoulder. After what felt like an eternity, the tears subsided, leaving behind a sense of exhaustion and relief. Chris wiped away the remnants of my tears

"Thank you," I whispered, breaking the silence that surrounded us.

Chris smiled softly his eyes filled with understanding. "Anytime, Mya. I'm here for you."

And in that moment, I knew that I had found someone who would stand by me through the storm, no matter what was ahead.

Matt's POV:

As Mya stormed out of the room, I felt really bad. I knew I messed up big time. I sat on my bed, feeling guilty and lost. How did things get so messed up? I couldn't believe I hurt her like that.
