The wisp only grew, surrounding the two of us.
"Step away from her or I will kill you." His voice was gruff, deeper than I remembered. But it was still him.
Kyrell. The man I can't help but love.
My hand drops off Kylo's face as Kyrell pulls me into his arms. His shadows wrapped around Kylo, pinning him down.
"Don't hurt him." I muster out, my body still unable to move. He must have not paralyzed me fully since I could still talk.
Kyrell looks at me with a frown but agrees.
"Help Caelus. He was with the sorcerer," I say again.
"The sorcerer is gone, Estella." Caelus speaks, approaching us. He looked roughed up, but wasn't hurt anywhere that I could see. "He ran away."
Kyrell's grip tightens on me as Caelus stands a few feet in front.
"I'm going to kill you." Kyrell glares at him.
Caelus remains serious. "You can kill me after everything is over. We need to question everyone here. After all, they are key in stopping this madness."
"He's right. We need as many people to help. Um, could you turn me slightly? I want to see the field," I tell Kyrell.
His eyes soften as he looks to me.
"Are you paralyzed? Was this his doing?" He looks in Kylo's direction.
"Yes. I'm sorry but I can't walk."
"It's alright. I'll carry you." He gently picks me up, placing one of my limp arms on his shoulder. It was embarrassing to say the least. He was holding me bridal style and I was so close to him.
But after not seeing him for so long I can't help but like it.
"Your Majesty! There you are." A feminine voice sounded through the clearing.
Dilana came rushing through the forest. A small twig stuck in her pink hair.
"You left so quickly the rest of us were trying to keep up." She brushed off the dirt on her black pants. Behind her stood three other knights.
Since when was Kyrell close to Dilana? Did my absence give them a chance? My heart ached at the realization.
I mean this is how it was supposed to be. So I shouldn't feel hurt.
"The rest of you were too slow. I should have left you behind." Kyrell respond without a care in the world.
"How can Your Majesty say that? I've helped far too much." She talks back to him.
They seem friendly, like they've known each other forever.
Dilana then shifts her gaze to me, who comfortably laid in Kyrell's arms.
"Estella! Oh my Lucia! How are you feeling? Are you hurt? Do you need me to heal you?" She worriedly waved her hands, scanning my body for any injuries.
"I'm okay. I just can't move my body for a while." I give her a small smile.
"Oh, you must have suffered so much." She then notices Caelus attentively watching our conversation. "This is all his fault."
When you read a book, you slowly learn more about the characters. Their lives, experiences and most importantly their personalities. It wasn't until I came into this fantasy world did I realize that things are different.
A character can be completely different or change because of certain events.
SLAP!
The sound echoed in our ears.
