Chapter 11: Naruto's Past

Aquaman had dove into the water to retrieve the fallen ninja. Scooping him up, he brought him to the surface. Martian Manhunter immediately levitated him to solid ground. Zatara immediately performed a spell to expel the lungs of any water, causing Naruto to cough again but even more violently than the last. More blood ran down his chin and other openings on his face.

The team wanted to rush to their teammate, but were held back by the other heroes.

"Let us go!" Robin thrashed in Wonder Woman's arms as she blocked them from going any further.

"We have to see if he's alright!" M'ghann pleaded, tears rolling down her face.

"We have to give them space to work. Crowding him is not going to help anyone," Wonder Woman said sternly, though worry was also evident in her face.

Canary and Batman slid to Kage's side and checked his injuries, things were not looking good. "He doesn't look good," Canary told Batman with obvious worry in her eyes.

Batman's demeanor grew solemn. "He needs medical attention, now."

"Get out of the way!" Canary called as she and Martian Manhunter, who was levitating Naruto, tore through the hanger after they exited the Bioship.
Naruto's conditions were near critical after the fight. With his conditions, it was too risky to try and take a zeta tube. They had immediately rushed to the Bioship and flew straight to the Watchtower with the protege's and some of the heroes; Black Canary and Martian Manhunter. The rest of the heroes had been carried back by Green Lantern to the nearest zeta location to get to the Watchtower before they had arrived to get the medbay ready. Batman had called someone on the way to rendezvous at headquarters.

The rest of the team were following close behind the two heroes as they tore down the halls of the Watchtower. This was the first time they have ever been to the Watchtower that was kept hidden from them, leading to the creation of the team. They would have been more excited under different circumstances. Right now, they just hoped their teammate would be alright. Hearing the thundering steps of the desperate heroes, John Stewart turned around to find a mob of heroes running down the hall with a figure floating between them.

"Move!" Canary cried out to the confused hero. John flattened himself to the wall to let them pass. As they passed by, he finally got a view of what was going on.

Naruto, who was now no longer wearing his suit and was being levitated as he was escorted to the infirmary. He was shocked at the horrid state that he was in. He was pale, blood dribbling from his mouth and wounds. Burns were haggard along his whole body.

Looking back at the hall they had just ran from, he could see the trail of blood that seemed to be leading all the way back to who knows where.

Turning around, he went back to the hall he just came from and flew after the group.

Flying next to the Martian, he asked in worry, "What happened?!"

"He was injured during the bout, he's losing too much blood," Martian Manhunter rapidly replied.

Finally arriving at the med-bay, they could see the heroes all gathered outside of the doors. They quickly made room for the two heroes and Kitsu to enter. The protege's went to go follow, but was stopped by Batman.

"Stay here," he commands.

"What, why that's our friend," Megan responds in a voice of desperation.

"You'll only get in the way, end of discussion," he responds with authority.

As Batman enters the room he sees Alfred or rather Agent A starting to get ready before a floating fox head of yellow energy comes out of Naruto's stomach. "Stop, just let me work he'll be fine once I've healed him we'll talk to you all about where we came from."
