Me and Lexie stood beside behind Mr.Knight, Lexie standing directly beside him. I could sense his discomfort, making him move away from her by taking one step closer to the older patient infront of us. The patients head was bandaged and he seemed tired. Dr. Knight held out the folder for one of us to grab, making Lexie rush to grab it.
"Forty-eight male, presented with typical signs of an aneurysm. He was taken in last for immediate surgery, it went successfully."
"Good, now what should we schedule for today." He asked, and I went to speak but Lexie interrupted me.
"MRI, blood tests, change of bandage and reflex test." She spoke, or rather shouted leaving her slightly fatigued. I see, she wanted to play that game with me. Lexie smiled his way but he only glanced at me, as if the question was intended for me.
"Correct... now what are the typical symptoms of an aneurysm?" He asked, looking my way. This was a question for me, not Lexie. A small pout overtook her face, I felt slightly bad but she was too old to be pouting anyway.
"Severe headache, facial asymmetry, blurred vision, nausea along with stiffened neck. More severe symptoms include seizures and loss of consciousness." I said, feeling a ting of pride. It wasn't much, but I had felt I got every classic symptom mentioned so Lexie couldn't add something to make me look stupid. Dr. Harrington nodded.
"Very good. Now Mr. Johnson, we're going to be taking some tests as said, but you'll be happy to know that your vitals look fenomenal along with your healing." He said, patting our patient lightly on his shoulder. Mr. Johnson smiled widely, delighted at the good news."Thank you so much Dr. Harrington! I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you. It's scary to think about, losing everything in a split second..."
"It's the least I could do, you shouldn't worry so much. Not if I might look at that bandage Mr. Johnson?" He asked, glancing at us. Me and Lexie turned to the table nearby, grabbing the materials needed for Mr. Johnsons bandage change. We returned to Dr. Harrington, and he mumbled a thank you before getting rid of Mr. Johnsons current bandage, and a metallic smell filled the room.
"See how the I've sown it? It creates a stable hold on the separated skin whilst leaving a minimal scar." Dr Harrington adds, his gloved fingers pointing towards the surgical incision, veins in his arms standing out. Lexie nodded quite enthusiastically and I could only hummed. Dr. Harrington proceeded to clean the area before wrapping it again.
"Great work Dr. Harrington, really." Lexie stated, and if it weren't for how expected it was of Lexie to say such a thing, I would've laughed out loud. My eyes went was, as did Dr. Harringtons. He lightly scoffed before mumbling.
"Um, thank you... Anyways, good news Mr. Johnson, your incision sight looks really good so you're most likely going to have a smooth recovery. " He said, going over to pick up the folder and document in it. Once our check up appointment with Mr. Johnson was over, we moved on to the next patient; Ms. Roberts.
Dr. Harrington to hand me the folder, earning me a rude glance from Lexie. I knew not to take it personally, given she doesn't really know me yet and the fact that she's strangely obsessed with her new boss.
"Fourteen female, ambulance brought her in this morning after experiencing a severe seizure. She's had another seizure since. We're not entirely certain of the cause but we'll do some scans such as MRI and CT of the brain along with some bloodwork to look for the cause. Once the cause for the seizures are found, we'll do our best to fix it." I stated, smiling towards the small girl laying down in her bed. She looked worn-out, not surprising from her seizures. I could feel Dr. Harringtons eyes on me. I looked his way and he smiled."Very good presentation, now Chloe I want you to look into this light." He said, a flashlight appearing from his coats pocket. Chloe did as told, and she her body reacted to it as if she wasn't a real candidate for seizures.
"Alright, good job. Dr. Lawson here will follow accompany you to your scans." Dr. Harrington said, standing up walking towards me. I could practically feel Lexies envy as she was being ignored.
"Do you know what to do?"
"Yes, I'll start with booking the CT and MRI and I'll do bloodwork in the meantime we wait for our scheduled time."
"Very good Dr. Lawson." He smiled before turning to Lexie. Lexie had the just about the largest smile plastered on her face as our attending finally noticed her.
"Dr. Barton, you'll do post-ops on a few other patients." He told her before leaving us alone.

"So is she like in love with him?" Chloe asked me as I rolled her out the CT room. We had finished all of her scans and now we just had to wait for the results.
"I hope not, she just met him." I said. Of course Chloe had noticed everything going on whilst I was accompanied by my boss and coworker. It had been painfully obvious that Lexie liked Edward."Well why would she be looking at you like that otherwise, you can't tell me you didn't notice?" She said, grinning at me as if to say, you know you're right. Leave it to the kids to notice everything, and to point it out. I tickled her side lightly before looking at her vitals.
"She's just jealous that's all, but she's got nothing to worry about.""I mean he was really nice to you."
"Well isn't he nice to you as well?"
"That's different..." She mumbled and I laughed lightly. Her brown hair came to cover her face lightly. She grunted as she tried to reach for her backpack, but as her hand lightly grazed it, it tipped over, its contents falling out. A tennis ball rolled out across the room, and I went and got it. I picked up her backpack and her stuff, noticing a common theme.
"Do you play tennis?"
"Yeah! It's my favorite." She smiled, before continuing. "But I tend to fall a lot."
"That's fine, as long as you always get up you'll be fine." I said, putting her backpack on the table across the beds end. I waited for her response but she went dead silent until I heard her shake. I ran to her, and called the emergency button next to her bed. Noticing foam in her mouth, I lightly turned her to the side as help came rolling into the room.
