I've been missing track so I decided since I've never done a track imagine and I haven't done an alex one lately I'd do this (: enjoy!

I walked over to the cart, grabbed a bottle of water and promptly fell onto the floor in exhaustion. That last 100m workout really killed me.
"Constancio get up!" I hear my friend, (y/n) say as she kicked my foot. Groaning, I pick myself off the ground and take in my best friends sweaty appearance. Even despite her flushed face, messy hair, and ragged breath, she still looked as stunning as ever.
"How's the 4 going for you, (y/l/n)?" I asked her.
"Killer but guess who's running varsity next meet?" She grinned, hoping up in excitement. I embrace her into a bone crushing hug as she giggled.
"You're sweaty." She remarked and I laughed.
"So are you." I bopped her nose in reply and then heard a whistle being blown.
"Back to work." The four hundred coach yelled to the athletes sitting by the water wagon.
"See you later." (Y/n) waved, jogging back to finish today's workout.
She was the only reason I actually stayed in track, well that and my football coach is also the track coach so all of the football players had to run track, but I would've just ditched like I did every other season if it weren't for her.
"Stop staring man." Austin said slapping the back of my head as he walked past to grab a water.
"I don't know what your talking about." I reply nonchalantly as I shrug.
Austin scoffs and site down next to me. "How long have I known you?" He asks me.
"Too long." I mumble and he shoves me. "A long time."
"Long enough to know when my best friend is crushing over some girl. Just ask her out man. Your Alex freaking Constancio, if it doesn't work out with her there's tons of other girls who are dying to even catch a smile man."
I sighed and nodded.
"Fine I'll do it," I say and austin fist pumped the air. "But at the next meet, she's racing varsity."
"You better get your ass to work then, 'cuz the only way your going to that meet is if you qualify." Austin said as he got up and made his way back to the starting line with the rest of the guys.
I got up and raced back over to the starting line to get back to training.**
"Constancio." My coach called as I was walking out with (y/n).
"Hold on okay?" I asked and she nodded before I jogged over to my coach.
"I don't know how you managed to drop your time by a full 10 seconds but you made varsity 200 next meet."
"Thank you so much coach." I say as I excitedly make my way back over to (y/n).
"Guess who's also running varsity?" I say and she squeals in excitement.
"I'm so proud of you." (Y/n) replies kissing my cheek. I run my fingers through my hair nervously trying to hide my blush and smile.
"Uhm lets go." She chuckles, rubbing her arm and biting her lip.**

Putting on your spikes you nervously look around at your competition, there were some great girls out here but you were better. You look out into the infield to see alex warming up with Austin for the 200m dash and you can't help but smile. Alex might be your track buddie but he was also your crush. He made your insides melt and your face change color. He was adorable but you couldn't help but think that you might have ruined everything by kissing him the other day.
"Girls 400 meter varsity should be warming up on the field." Someone said over the speakers, shaking off your thoughts you made your way to the infield to stretch and run some striders.
"Girls 400 meter to the starting line." The voice said and you jogged over to the starting line.
You were placed in your favorite lane so your nerves calmed down a bit.
"You got this (y/n)!" You hear someone yell and you see Austin standing by himself a few feet away. You give him a small smile, saddened that Alex wasn't there to wish you luck one last time.
You placed your feet in your starting blocks and got yourself ready as the adrenaline started to kick in. You were going to win this race.
"Runners on your mark, get set." The man with the racing gun says and in a split second, the time that it took you to exhale, the gun shoots off and you push yourself out of the blocks and around the first bend of the race.
You can hear everyone cheering for you to pass the girl in front of you as you go around that back straight-away and into the last turn. As you make it around the final turn and begin the last stretch you feel yourself getting tired but you need to pass the girl in front you and your gaining on her. You get right beside her and match her pace as you both sprint the last 100m. You get slightly in front of her just as you pass the finish line, you hear the crowd scream your name as you stop a few feet past the finish line. Someone hands you a water and you grab it and gulp down half of it in less than a minute.
"Good race." You say to all the girls as you all high five and give sweaty hugs. Someone taps your shoulder and you look behind you to see Alex. You fake pout at him.
"You weren't here for my race." You say.
"I did see you race. Good job beautiful." He replies kissing your cheek. You feel your face change color at the name and the gentle peck. "I have something to show you."
"What is it?" You ask smiling.
"(Y/n)!" You hear Austin yell. You turned to look at him to him holding a poster."(Y/n)
I know this may seem lame but I think your very aTRACKtive so would you go on a date with me? -Alex"You turn to look at Alex who's standing beside you nervously combing his fingers through his hair. You bite your lip and stand on your tiptoes to bring your lips to his. Once your lips connect he brought his hands to your waist and pulled you in closer to him.
"How's that for an answer?" You giggle once you pull apart.
"Just kiss me again dork." He chuckles and you hear your team cheer behind you.
