*"When someone loves you, the way they talk about you is different. You feel safe and comfortable."
- Jess C. Scott, The Intern. The air is cold. As I look around, fearfully, I notice the unfamiliar surroundings. I walk along a path of grey stone. The world is twisted and harsh. Strange. Cruel. An old man walks up to me.
"You have travelled far, miss. You are welcomed."
I trail after the man, unaware of what is to follow. Suddenly the man turns back to me and holds my shoulders.
"Samantha."
He shakes me. But his voice is different. His voice is familiar.
"Samantha."
His shaking becomes more violent. This voice...
"Samantha."
I know exactly who this is. It's-
"SAMANTHA!"
I wake up to the green eyes that belong to Samuel Parkins.
His hands are on my shoulders. And he is in his bright blue underwear.
"Samuel, why are you in my room. Again."
He lets go of my shoulders and step back. Leaving me in full view of my best friends abs.
"Always a pleasure, Samantha. I need your help." He whispers with a sly smile, showing off his pearly whites.
"What is it this time? Mom kicked you out? You lost all your clothes. I'm not borrowing you my pants or shirts again."
I patronizingly sigh as he waves his hands in front of him.
"No, no, no. That was one time and you promised you wouldn't bring it up again!"
I let out a soft chuckle, being careful to not be heard. Although my family and his family are close. I doubt my mom would react well if she finds Sam Parkins half naked standing over me.
"Okay, I need you to help me get rid of Tamickaque."
His eyes are calm as he 'asks'.
"Tamakakawaque? I'm not very familiar with that dialect. Maybe try humpback?"
He looks at me blankly.
"Okay, don't be shocked but I went out tonight,"
He replies slowly.
"I'm not seeing the shocking part."
His gaze burns into me as it seems like I've disturbed something important.
"I went out tonight and brought a girl home. Her name is Tamickaque. I need you to get rid of her."
I stare at him for a full 10 seconds after he finishes.
"You're making it seem as though I have to get rid of a body! You didn't kill her right? Oh no, you did! Oh shit. What the Hell, Samuel. I can not vouch for you if I know you did it. So don't tell me. Just back away and leave."
I shout-whisper at Sam. By now, I'm pacing up and down the room.
"I didn't kill her. It's just that she needs to wake up somewhere else. She wasn't that drunk but she knows the secret."
I take in a quick breath,
"Oh yes, the big Samuel Parkins Secret! It's not a big deal, Sam. I'm sure its not that small."
