AIZA POV

-After 7 Years-

The Winter In The United Kingdom Was A Spectacle To Behold. The Gentle Descent Of Snowflakes, Transforming The World Into A Serene White Wonderland. I Found Myself Living Amidst This Enchanting Scenery, Finding A Unique Solace In My Work That Seemed To Be Amplified By The Winter Season's Charm.

Engrossed In My Work, My Sketches Were No Longer Mere Drawings On A Canvas. They Were Coming Alive, Each Stroke A Testament To My Creativity And Passion. As I Sat By The Window Of My Cozy 1BHK Apartment, Watching The Snowfall, My Mind Couldn't Help But Wander To My Friends.

Ahaana And Caleb, Their Bond Still Strong Despite The Miles Between Them. The Stories Ahaana Shares During Our Weekend Phone Calls, Sometimes With Caleb By Her Side, Sometimes On Her Own, Paint A Vivid Picture Of Their Lives. Caleb, Now A CEO, Seems To Have Embraced His New Role With Grace.

Then Ryna, Her Charm Lighting Up The Fashion World. Our Conversation From Yesterday Echoes In My Mind. I Had Asked About Ronan, But She Deftly Avoided The Question. It Left Me Wondering If Something Had Transpired Between Them.

Aaron, Our Innocent Nerd, Is Now Soaking Up The Sun In California, Managing An Architectural Firm. Yet, Beneath That Polished Exterior, He Remains The Fun-Loving Guy We Knew In College.

My Train Of Thought Is Interrupted By The Chime Of My Phone. A Notification Pops Up, "Jeremy Posted An Update Of 'The Love Strings'."

The Sight Of The Wallpaper Brings A Rush Of Memories, Ones That I Try To Erase Every Day But To No Avail. I Find Myself Unable To Change This Wallpaper, A Silent Testament To A Past Those Refuses To Be Forgotten.

Five Years Ago...

"I'm Leaving For The UK Tomorrow," I Confessed, My Voice Barely Audible Over The Roar Of Jeremy's Harley. He Didn't Respond, Instead, He Accelerated, The Bike Surging Forward As If Trying To Outrun The Inevitable.

The Parisian Streets, Usually Teeming With Life, Were Eerily Quiet At 2 A.M. The City Of Love Was Our Silent Witness, Its Twinkling Lights Reflecting In The Tears That Welled Up In My Eyes.

Suddenly, Jeremy Slowed Down Near The Seine. The Serene Flow Of The River Seemed To Mirror The Turmoil Within Us. He Finally Turned To Look At Me, His Eyes A Storm Of Emotions - Confusion, Fear, And A Hint Of Sadness.

"I Know," He Finally Said, His Voice Barely Above A Whisper. "And I Don't Want You To Go, But I Understand Why You Have To."

His Words, Meant To Be Comforting, Felt Like A Punch To My Gut. "But Do You, Jeremy? Do You Really Understand?" I Retorted; The Frustration Evident In My Voice.

"I... I Just Don't Think I Can Handle A Long-Distance Relationship, Aiza," He Admitted, His Voice Trembling Slightly. "I'm Scared That The Distance Will Change Us, Change What We Have."

His Confession Hit Me Like A Ton Of Bricks. I Had Been So Caught Up In My Own Fears And Uncertainties That I Hadn't Considered How He Might Be Feeling.

"I Understand Your Fears, Jeremy," I Began, My Voice Steady Despite The Turmoil Within. "I'm Scared Too. But Isn't That What Love Is About? Facing Our Fears Together?"

He Looked At Me, His Eyes Searching Mine, As If Trying To Find The Answers To His Unspoken Questions. I Continued, "Long-Distance Doesn't Have To Change Us, Jeremy. It's Just A Test Of Our Love, Our Commitment To Each Other."

I Reached Out, Gently Taking His Hand In Mine. "We Can Make It Work, Jeremy. We Can Schedule Regular Video Calls, Visit Each Other When We Can. It Won't Be Easy, But It's Not Impossible."

I Paused, Letting My Words Sink In. "The Distance Might Change Our Circumstances, Jeremy, But It Doesn't Have To Change Us, Not Unless We Let It. We Are Stronger Than This, And Our Love Is Stronger Than Any Distance Could Ever Be."

His Eyes Softened, And In That Moment, I Knew He Understood.

"Aiza," He Began, His Voice Barely A Whisper In The Quiet Night. "I May Be Scared, But That Doesn't Mean I Don't Love You."

He Reached Out, Gently Tucking A Loose Strand Of Hair Behind My Ear. His Touch Sent A Shiver Down My Spine, A Reminder Of The Connection We Shared. "I Love You, Aiza," He Said, His Voice Filled With Sincerity. "And If You're Willing To Try, So Am I."

Jeremy Leaned In, His Eyes Never Leaving Mine. His Hand, Still Resting Against My Cheek, Gently Pulled Me Closer. The World Around Us Seemed To Fade Away, Leaving Just The Two Of Us Under The Starlit Sky.

His Lips Met Mine In A Soft, Tender Kiss. It Was A Kiss Filled With Promise, A Testament To Our Shared Love And Commitment. The Taste Of His Lips, The Warmth Of His Breath, The Gentle Pressure - It Was A Sensation That Sent A Wave Of Tranquility Through Me.

The Kiss Deepened, Our Emotions Pouring Into It, Making It More Passionate. His Other Hand Found Its Way To My Waist, Pulling Me Closer, As If Trying To Merge Our Very Beings. Our Hearts Beat In Sync, A Rhythm That Echoed Our Shared Feelings.

When We Finally Pulled Apart, Our Foreheads Rested Against Each Other, Our Breaths Mingling In The Cold Night Air. His Thumb Gently Caressed My Cheek, A Silent Promise Of His Love. We Stood There, Under The Starlit Sky, Our Love As Profound As The Universe Itself. This Was Not A Goodbye, But A Promise Of A Love That Would Endure, No Matter The Distance.

------

Gently, I Brushed Away The Tears That Had Trickled Down My Cheeks, Each One A Silent Testament To The Depth Of My Longing For Him. The Salty Trails They Left Behind Were Stark Reminders Of How Much I Missed Him.

With A Heavy Heart, I Reached For My Phone, My Fingers Tracing The Familiar Digits Of His Number. It Had Been A Year Since I Last Heard His Voice, A Year Filled With A Silence That Was Deafening. To The World, Jeremy And I Were The Picture Of Happiness, But The Reality Was A Stark Contrast.

As I Dialed His Number, My Heart Pounded In My Chest. The Anticipation, The Fear, The Hope - A Whirlwind Of Emotions Threatened To Overwhelm Me. The Phone Rang, Each Tone Echoing In The Silence Of The Room.

And Then, The Line Connected. His Voice, A Familiar Melody In The Silence, Filled The Room. "Hello, Aiza," He Said, And Just Like That, The Miles Between Us Seemed To Disappear. It Was As If He Was Right There, Beside Me, Under The Starlit Sky Of Paris, Promising A Love That Knew No Boundaries. Despite The Silence Of The Past Year, Our Connection Felt As Strong As Ever. But The Question Remained - Could We Bridge The Distance That Had Grown Between Us?
