When the sun set

Thirtenth Sunset 🌄

Taehyung is screaming his lungs out when their side went up. Jungkook is looking at him worriedly. He told the sick boy that they would skip the boat ride and could just go to the less extreme ones. But the older man insisted that he wanted to try it. He even took a picture of both of them earlier. Jungkook had no choice but to agree in one condition: a pulse oximeter should be attached to Taehyung for the whole ride, even after they take off. Now, they are enjoying it while holding hands. 

Jungkook had the instinct of holding the older man's hand when they synchronizing held them up above their heads. It seems like Taehyung doesn't mind it but squeezes his hand as a response. 

"This is amazingggggg!!!Whoaaaaaaaa" Jungkook laughed at Taehyung when the latter screamed again and held his hand now. The bodyguards are in front of them, screaming as loud as Taehyung. 

When the ride was done, Jungkook situated them at a food stall and let Taehyung rest. The sick boy looks so tired but is still smiling. They are waiting for Taehyung's breathing to calm down before checking his pulse again. He gave Taehyung water and asked if he wanted to eat something. Taehyung's heart flutters at how attentive Jungkook is to him, despite him telling the boy that he was fine. Jungkook still insists on checking up on him from time to time. 

"I can't believe you made it, Tae. That is so extreme for you. I wonder if we'll regret this tomorrow." Taehyung knows he is reaching his limit too early and pulling his grave on his foot. But he doesn't care; he wants to make the younger boy happy, which makes him happy eventually. 

After checking his pulse and oxygen level, Taehyung asked him what their next ride was. Jungkook doesn't want to tire the elder more; he chooses the less extreme and safest rides. 

"We will ride 3 only. Next is Flume Ride, and last is The Adventure of Sinband." Taehyung's eyes sparkle after hearing those. Those are his favorites. He pulled Jungkook to fall in line for the flume ride and bargain something with the boy. 

"I'll sit at the back." Jungkook shook his head firmly at the boy. 

"No, Taehyung. You will sit in front of me. I am at the back." Taehyung pouted his lips and showed his adoring, pleasing face to Jungkook. "No. Stop with your cuteness. You're not cute." Taehyung's face suddenly became straight, and he turned his back to Jungkook and ignored the younger boy the following minutes while waiting for their turn. Jungkook heaved a sigh before holding his wrist. 

"Fine. You'll sit at my back. But hold me. I don't want anything bad that might happen to you, but I also don't want to see you like that sad." The sick boy's face lit up, and he hugged Jungkook suddenly. The younger boy hugged him back. They both freeze when they realize what they are doing. Taehyung turned his back again while Jungkook cleared his throat.

"Hop on the horse. I'll take a picture of you." Jungkook pointed to the older boy the merry-go-round behind him. Taehyung hurriedly ran inside the barricade and hop on the horse. Jungkook took a picture of the sick boy before they ran to the next ride.

They were both grinning while sitting on the boat. Jungkook pulled Taehyung's hands in his chest and make the sick boy hug him. Without further complaining, the older clasp his hands to Jungkook's chest and they both get ready to slide down the trail. The boys soon laughing when water hit their bodies and Jungkook is now leaning on Taehyung. Stars are twinkling on their eyes and smile never leave their lips. They are too happy tonight. Forgetting how Taehyung is sick. They are living their life to the fullest just for tonight.

Once done, they both rested and took the precautions needed before heading to the last ride for that night. It's more relaxing because they will just sit on a boat again and roam around the man-made river with attractions for the clients. The Adventure of Sinband is like a horror house, but you're riding a boat. There are scary sounds and displays inside the cave. Taehyung squeezed his body against Jungkook's when he heard a man laugh deeply at the entrance, which echoed throughout the whole cave. Jungkook automatically wrapped his arm around the elder's torso.

"Relax. I'm here." He whispered to Taehyung's head and kissed his head. Taehyung looked up at him and smiled again. His heart beats beyond normal—not the alarming one, but it beats faster because of what Jungkook did.

As they go deeper into the cave, it also gets darker. There are skeletons who fight each other, snakes all over the trunks, and other scary creatures with different laughing and screaming sounds. which the boys enjoyed after a few minutes. They were both sitting side by side without noticing that they were holding hands since they hopped off the last ride. And they stayed like that until they called it a night.

They were heading home, and they would pass the hospital. Jungkook thought of bringing Taehyung to the hospital park to confess. He whispered to the driver a while ago to drop him off at the hospital and excuse himself from getting something in his brother's office. With Taehyung. The elder didn't suspect anything and just agreed to Jungkook's request. Confusion started when, instead of heading to the main building of the hospital, Jungkook turned right onto the pathway, still holding Taehyung's hand.

"Kook. Where are we going? It's dark here." Taehyung stopped walking and pulled Jungkook's hand. The younger man also halted and looked back at him.

"Let's go to the park where we sat a few weeks ago. I have something to tell you." Jungkook stared at his eyes nervously. Taehyung gulped before nodding at him.

"Why need here? It's dark and cold." The younger let Taehyung sit on the bench before he kneeled in front of him.

"Kook. Stand up. The grass is wet." Jungkook shook his head and smiled at the elder. He took Taehyung's hands and kissed his knuckles.

"I told you I wanted to tell you something, right?" Taehyung nodded at him and felt nervous suddenly. He doesn't want to hear what Jungkook is about to tell him. He cannot risk the younger boy's happiness. He can't let Jungkook leave broken. He can't let tears cascade down Jungkook's pretty face. He doesn't want to break the younger boy. But he let Jungkook spill the words. He prepared himself to tell Jungkook what the younger boy needed to do.

"I want to tell you I know what I am doing, I know what I am ending up to, and I still will risk this for you, for me, and for us. But I will regret my whole life if I let it slide and don't tell you. It will hunt me for the rest of my life if I don't do this." Jungkook kissed his knuckles again, still looking at his eyes.

"I love you, Tae. Everything about you. I will stay with you until you become weak. I will take care of you and fight with you. I promise to remain by your side until you take your last breath. I will be the last person you look up to before you close your eyes. I will be the last person that your heart beats for before it stops. I will always make new memories with you until your brain gives up." Taehyung started crying. Jungkook's confession is not helping him. It is making things harder for him.

"Let me. Let me love you eternally. Let me show you my love until your last day. Let's watch how beautiful the sun rises every day until your last sun sets, Taehyung." Taehyung wanted to reject the younger boy. He doesn't want to be selfish and accept Jungkook's confession, knowing he will die soon.

"You know I can't be with you for a long time, Kook. You know sooner I will leave you. I don't want to be selfish, knowing you will end up crying because of me, but I don't want you to leave me. I want to spend my remaining days with you." He tried his best to think rationally, but Taehyung set aside his doubts and nodded at the boy.

"Yes, Jungkook. I will accept your love. But promise me you can make it when I die." He then pulled up Jungkook, whose eyes were wide, and they both cried while hugging. They exchange words on how Jungkook needs to get ready for what's bound to happen. That they only have few days left before Taehyung's body gives up and will leave Jungkook at  the end.
