LUKE AND I START MAKING our way back to the sophomore house, listening to sza, talking about thanksgiving/christmas break, and ranting about our least favorite classes and professors. the drive was short, only about twenty minutes. as we pulled into the driveway i noticed the only car there was dylan's.

"i think the boys went to a party or something." i wonder aloud. luke parks the car in his designated spot and turns his head to look at me.

"what makes you think that?" he asks, even though he already knew the answer. it was the only logical answer.

"because the only car here is dylan's and he is never the DD when we go out." i reply, grabbing my phone and bag before exiting luke's car.

"sounds about right." luke spoke softly, grabbing my hand as we walked up to the door. he reached into his pocket to grab the house key. as he put the key in, he noticed the door was already unlocked.

"they never lock the door," i say, looking up at luke. all he did was shake his head. "we could be robbed and they wouldn't care."

"right." luke replied, pushing the door open and walking inside after me.

the house was surprisingly neat, which meant that avery probably made everyone clean it up before going out to feel better. i walk into the kitchen and see a note on the counter.

hey guys - i hope your date was fun ;)
the boys, maggie, and i are all going to a party down the street. i made everyone clean before we left. we'll be home by 2am at the latest. love you and make good choices!

"that's such a cute note!" i squeal, showing luke the letter avery and maggie left for us. he picks it up from the table and flips it over, seeing another note written on the back, only this time it was from the boys.

you need to save us from avery and maggie! they made us clean. we cleaned the bathrooms, the bedrooms, the kitchen, the living room, EVERYTHING. i almost dropped my phone in the toilet! <-- that's from dylan.

anyways can we please get a dog? - ethan

luke and i laughed after reading it. "what is up with you guys and wanting a dog?" i ask and luke just shrugs.

"i'm not sure but i know ethan, mark, and dylan really want one," he replies, grabbing the note and throwing it away. "i wouldn't mind having one either."

"who would take care of it when you have games and you're traveling?" i ask, curious to see what luke would come up with.

"well when we're traveling and you aren't with us you can take care of it, and when we have home games and practices avery can take care of it because she's not in the training office with you and maggie." luke explains.

i think for a minute. "sounds like you guys could pull it off, but taking care of a dog is a lot of money that none of us have right now. so unless you guys can pool money to buy one it's a lost cause." i say.

"well you didn't say no!" luke speaks with excitement.

i roll my eyes. "whatever, i'm going to shower and see if the boys really cleaned their rooms."
