HEY GUYS! THIS IS MY FIRST FAN FICTION SO I HOPE YOU LIKE IT. ALL OF MY CHAPTERS ARE FROM CLARY'S POINT OF VIEW UNLESS I SAY OTHERWISE. ALSO THE STORY IS SET AFTER CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE. THANKS FOR READING. PLEASE COMMENT AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK.
Clary was breathing heavily as they rounded the corner chasing after the demon. Jace was grinning clutching his seraph blades, Isabelle was smirking, her whip uncoiled and ready and Alec just looked annoyed (probably because the demon had decided to run away) but none of them seemed to have trouble with all the cross country running. Clary grimaced, running had never been her strong point. The group stopped abruptly as they realised they had hit a dead end, and the demon turned snarling at them. Jace's grin deepens and Isabelle and Alec draw their weapons. Clary hastily takes out her seraph blade embarrassed at her delayed reaction.

"Tough luck." Jace says still with that stupid, arrogant grin that she loves. And with that they all leapt towards the demon. Alec hitting the demon in the abdomen with an arrow, Jace slashing it with his blades on it's chest, Isabelle striking it across the face with her whip and Clary delivering the death blow.

The demon collapsed groaning until it fell silent and disappeared, returning to its dimension.
Jace pulls Clary into an embrace and kisses her forehead. She smiles and presses her head into his chest, Jace is still grinning "Nice kill Clary," he says with no small amount of pride in his voice. "I didn't really do that much..." she starts to explain but Alec cuts her off "You still killed it though." Alec says also grinning. Clary and Isabelle just shake their head. Boys. Idiots. Often the same thing.

Once they got back to the institute they were all pretty hungry, having chased a demon around for a couple of hours. Isabelle offered to make them lunch but they all assured her that it was way to late for lunch and they would settle on just having snacks.
Outside it started pouring with rain that soon progressed to a full out thunderstorm.

Clary sat by one of the windows looking out on the city, at the drops of rain falling on the people below.
She turned away from the window as she heard footsteps coming up behind her.
Jace.
She smiled at him warmly and tapped the spot beside her motioning for him to sit next her.
"That's an awful lot of rain" she says
He nods his head thoughtfully "A lot more than usual." He agrees
"Wouldn't like to be caught in the rain right now" she says wanly

This time he shook his head "Good thing, this" he says gesturing outside at the flooding streets "Didn't happen while we were chasing that demon earlier." She smiled at him "Always the optimist." She says and he grins pulling her towards him "Always" he whispers. He presses his lips to hers and Clary is lost in aura of happiness.

A loud screeching noise causes Clary jumps out of the kiss sometime later, not exactly sure how long they've been kissing for. Jace to, looks up in confusion at the noise. "That's the doors" he says his eyebrows furrow in concentration "but we're not expecting anyone..." He gets up and walks quickly towards the main entrance and Clary runs quickly after him. What the hell was he talking about? "Jace!" She calls after him "Jace Herondale, slow down for a second!" Jace stops for a moment and she finally catches up with him and he resumes his brisk pace "what are you talking about?" She asks and Jace narrows his eyes suspiciously "I don't know"

They reach the doors and Clary's head is spinning. What does he mean he doesn't know? Clary returns to reality and finds herself looking at three hooded figures. The one in the middle pulls there hood down and smiles. She is a beautiful girl with long chocolate coloured hair and sparkling green eyes with a glint in them. "Hiya" she says with a grin.
