Today was weird. Levi and Ollie both took over. I mean I don't know what they did but apparently it wasn’t good. I fidgeted with my fingers looking everywhere but at Ms. Burke.

“So what is your name? Evan said that you called yourself Levi, Ollie, and Vallen.” she asked.

I swallowed the knot in my throat. I slightly looked up to meet her eyes. What do I do? Do I tell her or act ignorant? I don’t know. Luckily I didn’t have to make that decision. My body went limp as my head fell forward.

🧠Alex’s POV🧠

I sat up quickly and took in my surroundings. The lady who had started to question us was studying us quietly. I sighed softly, studying her back.

“I’m Alex. To answer your question, Levi, Ollie, Kai, Sami, and I are Vallen’s alters.” I explained.

She hummed, writing down what I said. She sat her pen down and made eye contact with me. I didn’t look away from her.

“So what is your job?” she asked.

“I’m the Manager/intelligent alter. I make the important decisions for Vallen. As well as keeping everyone in line.” I said.

She nodded, “What about the others?”

“Levi is the fighter/evil alter. Kai is the soother/caretaker. Ollie is the child alter. And Sami, she is the protector.” I told her.

Ms. Burke wrote everything down. She then had me talk a little more about our roles.

“Is there anything we can do to make everything easier for you all?” she asked.

I had to consult the others for this.

‘Anything we need to do to make everything easier?’ I asked.

‘Maybe something to make it easier to tell us apart when we front.’ Kai said.

“Kai said something to tell each of us apart for when we front.” I repeated.

She nodded and stood up. Ms. Burke informed Mr. Sander about us. I climbed up to our bed. I stared up at the ceiling, thinking about all of the events that happened today.

Levi had strangled the blonde one causing him to be super jumpy around us. I’m a little lost on what to do to make him feel a little more at ease when we are near. My body went limp as Kai fronted.

‘Leave it to me.’ Kai said.

Kai’s POV♥️

I looked at the poor kid. I feel so bad for him. I took a deep breath before sitting up.

“I’m sorry for this morning. I promise it won’t happen again.” I said.

The kid warily smiled at me. I gave him a warming, reassuring smile in return. Soon the officer came and got us for a run.

I doubled over panting heavily to try to catch my breath. Everyone else was perfectly fine with only slight panting. I’m not made to run. That is more of Levi, Sami, Vallen, and Alex’s thing.

“You okay…?” the officer asked, not knowing which one of us was fronting.

I gave him a smile, “Kai. And yes, I’m fine.”

The boy with the red hair wrinkled his nose with annoyance, “God, pick a name already. It’s confusing the hell out of me.”

I sighed and stood up right. The officer laid his hand on the kid's shoulder to calm him. But the kid shrugged him off. The girl walked over to me.

“Sorry if this seems rude but what is up with the many different names?” she asked.

‘Do you think I can tell her?’ I asked.

‘Sure, she seems dependable.’ Alex said.

‘Go ahead.’ Sami said, preparing to front in case it goes wrong.

‘I don’t care.’ Levi groaned, also on edge.

Ollie was excited for new friends, while Vallen was asleep.

“Hello? You there?” the girl asked.

I snapped out of my trance and looked back at her. I smiled apologetically towards her.

“Let’s go in and I’ll tell you.” I said.

She tilted her head but agreed with me. Once we got our food and sat down, she asked again.

“Well, the thing with the names is that we are alters. We are different people living inside the host's body.” I explained.

She had the look of a light bulb going off in her head on her face. I gave a wary smile.

“Oh! I know what you’re talking about. I learned about this in my AP Psychology. So what is your role?” she asked excitedly.

Sami and Levi relaxed, going back to whatever they were doing. I released the breath that I was holding in relief.

“My role is the soother or the caretaker of Ollie.” I said.

She leaned forward with interest, “How many are there? What’s their names and pronouns? And what do they do? Oh how old are all of you?”

I feel a little overwhelmed and Ollie is picking up on it. He started chatting and jumping, causing me to get a headache and dizzy.

‘I got this, just calm Ollie down.’ Sami said.

I moved the plate to the side and laid my head down just in case it hits the table during the switch. I pulled back and allowed Sami up front.

🛡️Sami’s POV🛡️

I sat up with a yawn and took in my surroundings real quick. The girl was confused about our actions. Kai is the most careful out of us. They always prepare for when someone else fronts. The others just carelessly switch in and out.

“Now, I’m sorry for that. I’m Sami. Can you repeat your questions for me?” I asked.

She hummed then repeated her questions.

“There are five of us besides the host. There is Alex, the manager, pronouns are Xe/Xem, Xe’s 17 years old. Levi’s the fighter, pronouns he/him, and he’s 13.” I informed her.

“Then there’s Ollie, pronoun he/him, and he is 7. Kai is the caretaker, pronouns they/them, age is 19. Finally there’s me, I’m the protector, my pronouns are she/her, and I’m 21.” I finally finished explaining.

After that we ate with little conversation. Soon the big officer that is incharge of us gathered us for the activity.

“Oh one last question. Do you guys remember what the other does or what happened before you front?” She asked.

“Not really. I mean we know most of what happened, but little details like names or stuff like that get lost in the process. So I really don’t know everyone’s names.” I said.

“Oh. I’m Kelly, the one with blonde hair is Flynn, the other boy is Karson, and the officer is Evan Sander.” Kelly said.

“Thanks.” I said.
