Namjoon was in his office, when a maid knocked and mentioned he had a visitor.
Stepping into the drawing room, he was met with Jimin sitting on a couch, smiling and speaking to Crown Princess Roseanne who was sipping tea and listening to her brother.
Jimin saw Namjoon first and stopped talking, his cheeks turning red.
Noticing, Roseanne turned and saw Namjoon.
"Can you excuse us please Jimin? It won't take long", Roseanne asked, noticing her brother's discomfort.
"O-of course Noona", Jimin said eagerly, getting up abruptly. Mumbling a greeting to Namjoon he left and shut the door.
The minute her brother left, Roseanne's demeanor changed.
Her smile died and her whole aura became cold and confident. She was once more that bold young lady who had stopped his wedding.
Namjoon wasn't intimidated, in fact, he was pleased. To him, onlY someone with a great amount of wit or stupidity could give off such an aura, and he enjoyed speaking with these kind of people.
He sat down where Jimin was seated and offered a polite smile.
"Princess Roseanne. This is intriguing. What would you need from me?"
Roseanne got up, stirring her cup of tea.
"Call it an older sister doing her duty. The last thing I'd want is to hear any complaints about how you treat your husbands. Or my brothers".
Namjoon could tell she had more on her mind.
"And are you satisfied with how they are faring?"
"For now, yes. It's too early to tell".
"Jungkook did not know you came?" Namjoon had wondered why Jimin had been here but Jungkook had not the minute he walked in.
"We have already spoken".
"I see. And I supposed you cautioned him to obey his husband?" Namjoon pretended to guess, with a disarming smile.
"Actually, I said if he was unhappy, he would have to buy write the word on paper and we would rage war", the princess answered with a cold, tight smile.
"Lovely. Too bad you wouldn't win".
"Whoever said the aim of a war is to win? No, when Busan goes to war, we'd rather inflict damages so heavy, losses so huge, the enemy would rather surrender than try to win".
"An ingenious battle tactic. You came up with it, I suppose?"
"My brothers and I did", she replied sweetly.
There was a short pause. Namjoon dropped his smile and Roseanne dropped her sarcastic one.
"What did you actually wish to speak of?"
Roseanne walked to the window and drew back the curtains, gazing over the view of the palace gardens.
She sighed softly.
"Jimin is kind. He is sweet. Our people, our family- they love him to death". Her voice was gentler, softer.
"I hated him at first. I thought he would rival me- try and take the throne. But...one day, this child, barely six, just came up to me and put a crown in my head. 'You're gonna be the most beautiful queen in the world', he said. And I knew he meant it. That day, he stole my heart and my soul. I would kill for him, end whole empires. He never wanted my crown. He just wanted", she paused, sipping her tea.
"He just wanted to be happy, for everyone to be happy. You don't get many princes like that in Busan Prince Namjoon".
Namjoon was quiet, soaking up every word, eyes on her face and gestures.
"Sadly, it also meant he was too kind. Too sweet. He didn't know how to judge or suspect anyone. He...he hasn't actually come face to face with hate. That is just how innocent he is. It also means he can love easily. He doesn't know how to hate".

"There was a day, he was ten, we were going for some noble's wedding. He met someone. A younger but bigger boy, shy and timid. He didn't know how to socialize, so no matter how much Jimin tried to be his friend, the boy just shied away. That actually hurt Jimin. He ended up telling our mother, who misunderstood and thought the child was trying to be rude. Ended up berating the parents and the boy rather...loudly". Roseanne winced in distaste at the memory.

"Jimin tried to explain, smooth things over, but the damage was done. The parents were humiliated and the boy was in tears. After that, Jimin...learned that not everyone would be falling over his feet, and he had to be okay with that. It didn't stop him from loving everyone, regardless. He never forgot that boy, and nine months later when we visited the countryside, I took him with me to make donations to a certain orphanage. Lo and behold, the boy was there, alone and unhappy. Jimin did everything in his power, and the next day, my parents adopted him".

Namjoon's eyes went wide as he realized it.
Jungkook.
Roseanne nodded, already knowing what he was thinking.
"Yes. Jungkook was the boy. I'm telling you this so you can have an idea of Jimin's true personality. He's so soft and caring... it's good he isn't king. Political affairs would crush him. I don't even know if he can be truly happy in this stupid marriage I got him roped in". Roseanne's tone became more harsh, but this time to herself. "I thought it was clever adding that in the deal. And a little funny too. No one in their right minds was meant to"- she shook her head and stopped herself, finishing her tea instead.
"Thank you for telling me this. I'm glad you did. I might not be able to give Jimin the kind of love he's used to, but you're right. He deserves happiness, and I'll make sure he is".

Roseanne didn't smile, but her eyes twinkled, and her aura didn't seem so sharp now.
"I'm glad. There aren't many princes like you too apparently".
"Coming from you, that is an honor".
"But that's not all. There is another thing I must discuss with you".
Namjoon raised one neatly trimmed brow.
"What is it?"
"Jungkook".
