Chapter 19:

(Desmond POV)

-six years later-

"King Desmond," It still felt strange when someone called me this. "Yes," "Queen Amber is looking for you in the observatory." I nodded and put down the papers I was looking at. I made my way through the castle to the observatory. King Rolland and Queen Miranda retired the throne to us five years ago and moved into one of the other palaces. I made my way to the elevator and went up into the observatory, "Daddy." I laughed as I scooped her up, "Hello Della." I looked over my daughter. Amber joined us, "Della." She said shaking her head. "Daddy," Aidan ran over from behind Amber as well. I kneeled down placing Della down, "Hey buddy."

We had Della and Aidan four years ago. The twin gene was strong in Amber's family and it gave us these two little trouble makers. Some people have a hard time telling what they got from each of us because we both have blonde hair and pale skin but, when I look at my kids I mostly see Amber. Della has my eyes and Amber swears that Aidan has my smile but, other than that it is anyone's guess what they got from each of us. It is too soon to see what personality traits they got from each of us, but I have a feeling that Della would be a mini Amber. She loves her Mom and wants to be just like her. Aidan is a little bit more of a closed book but he is till far more outgoing than I ever was. My great wish for my kids was achieved because these two are always together.

I walked over to Amber, "Thank you for saving me. I had a mountain of paperwork that I was buried in." She laughed and wrapped her arms around me and I leaned in for a kiss. As we separated, "That is what I am here for. Also, I can help you with the paperwork." "I know, I just started late getting those potions over to James." She nodded. We sat down with the kids. "So Des, what do you think about our little family?" Amber asked. I looked at her surprised, "Amber you know I love our family." I looked down at the picture that Della and Aidan were coloring and picked up a crayon to help them a little. "How would you feel about another one?" My eyes widened and I dropped the crayon. "Amber? Are you saying what I think you are saying?" She nodded, "Yes, I'm pregnant." I smiled over at her and looked down at our kids they seemed unamused by what we were talking about, probably because they didn't know what pregnant was. "Della, Aidan did you hear Mommy? You are going to have a new little brother or sister." Della stood up, "Really? I hope it's a girl." Aidan followed her, "No way we need another boy here." Amber and I laughed as they started to fight over this. We walked away giving them a little space, "How are you feeling?" I asked. "I'm alright, excited, nervous." I nodded, "Same here. What if we have twins again?" Her face darkened, "Don't joke about that. Neither of us slept for months when they were first born." I laughed, "No matter what we will figure it out." She nodded, "Yeah we will figure it out."

(Amber POV)

We stayed in the observatory for the rest of the night. Della and Aidan feel asleep on one of the beds that are up here for sleepovers and Des and I stayed by the telescope. I was so grateful for our life together now. It was crazy how much things changed in our lives and it felt right that Des and I were having another child. I looked over at him and saw that he was falling asleep against the telescope. I shook my head and tapped his shoulder, "Des," I whispered. His eyes narrowly opened, "Amber, did something happen." He became more alert, "Are the kids ok?" I nodded my head, "Yeah, you were just falling asleep and I figured if we are going to stay up here tonight we might as well go over to the beds." He nodded and groggily stood up and walked over to the bed. The kids were already asleep in one of the beds and we took another. He mumbled, "Any names in mind for this one?" I shrugged, "What about you?" "If it's a boy I'm thinking Aaron and if it's a girl I was thinking Lorelei." I sat up and looked down at him, "You want to name her after my mother?" He nodded, "Yeah, she gave me you and my best friend. I figured naming her second granddaughter after her is the least I could do to repay her." I placed a gentle kiss on his cheek and laid down.

- 7 months later -

I held our baby in my arms and Des came into the room with Della and Aaron, "Amber how are you doing?" I smiled over to him, "I'm alright but we need to be quiet." Della and Aidan hurried over to the bed, "Is it a boy or a girl?" The whisper yelled. I smiled over to him, "Say hello to Princess Lorelei." Des came over the bed to kiss my forehead, "I am so proud of you." "Is this real?" Des nodded, "Yes it is." We looked down at our daughter as Della and Aidan kept starring at her. Her eyes slowly opened and I saw that she had Des's eyes and smiled to myself. I turned to Della and Aidan, "Say hi to your sister." Della began to wave at her sister, "Hi Lorry." Aidan stroked her head gently, "Hi baby sister. You got lucky, we are a pretty good family and I promise we are never going to leave you." I looked over at Des and I could see he had the same reaction that I did. I was so proud of my son and I knew that he was going to be just like his Dad.
