Once they arrive at Norway, it was snowing since it was December and Mary had never seen snow, so she politely asked Duke Ludwig "Sir...What's all this fluffy and cold things falling from the sky?.." Mary tilts her head in confusion and Duke Ludwig smiles, "Well, this is snow." he says in a friendly and kind tone.

"This is 'snow'?!"

"Yes, once again"

"I can't believe it! I only read about snow from books!"

Duke Ludwig chuckles at this since he thinks Mary is such a kind and always curious child and that's what he likes the most about children (platonically) but he always wonder why Cecilia is always so bratty even though he always disciplined her and tried to make her a better woman since...

Cecilia's Fiancé is the soon to be King of Russia Elliot, and Elliot is a first class beauty who usually stands out in most royals, since he has long Jet black hair, water like blue eyes, and a naturally pale with a sharp jawline complexion, so it wasn't much of a surprise many women would fawn over him.

But for Cecilia, she was a different case, she wasn't faithful, even as a child she would always throw tantrums to get what she wanted which is the polar opposite of what Prince Elliot likes women who aren't mean but is always sweet and likes to accompany their husband, Because who doesn't like women who are willing to always accompany you and talk sweetly?.

                                                                     <...timeskip...>

The other maids were showing Mary and her mother around, and the Mansion has many vacant rooms for all of Cecilia's clothes and Cecilia's mother's jewelry and when Cecilia's mother met Mary's mother, Cecilia's mother aka "Éclair" already hated Mary and her mother, why?

Because Mary and her Mother was more beautiful than her

Éclair gets very furious and shouts "ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME LUDWIG?!" and "HOW CAN DO THIS?!" no one can even describe on how angry Éclair is, but to put it all on one phrase: "angrier beyond universes"

But to put the icing on top of it, Duke Ludwig wasn't even shocked, he was just calm as Éclair continues to shout furiously at him while flinging things around, but he knows what to do. So he casually opens a small notebook he had with him the entire time and he reads it a bit.

and the small notebook was...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

step by step on how to calm a furious Éclair

Step 1: Tell her that "she's beautiful" and "she's the only woman he'll ever love"

Step 2: if the first step doesn't work, repeat step 1

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mary was also confused on why Mrs. Éclair is shouting because Mary doesn't even know what's going on anyways and was just confusingly watching this scene since this is one dramatic thing she saw in her entire life (literally) and Mary starts to back away quietly and simply turns around and leaves

Mary starts to explore the mansion and was a bit surprised on how big it was because she has never seen a mansion this big up close (have pity bro-) and Mary doesn't touch anything since the one rule her mother always said is:

"never touch anything that isn't yours"

..And Mary always followed that rule because she always thinks about everything anyways so don't worry..
