III. THE AGE WHERE I FIND MYSELF WANTING TO DO SNOW ANGEL AND NOT WHATEVER THIS IS...

━━━━━━

"I'll make it through the winter if it kills me

I can make it faster if I hurry"

         NOT TO BE OVERKILL AND
all, but Kasturi was finally losing it — though if you asked her later, she'd deny it with all her might. But standing there, gripping the side of a flying chariot as they soared thousands of feet above the ground? Yeah, freaking the fuck out seemed like a pretty valid option. She should've watched her mouth, but it wasn't like she had time to care about that. Not with her stomach flipping like pancakes and the ground so far below it was just a smudge on the horizon. And yet here she was, crammed into the back of a wildly bouncing chariot with Leo, Piper, and Jason, trying to pretend she wasn't seconds away from an absolute meltdown.

Yes, you read that right, dear readers. They were on a freaking flying chariot.

Flying fucking chariot.

Seriously.

Not the sort of thing you wake up expecting when you roll out of bed in the morning, and yet here they were. High up in the sky, the icy wind tearing at Kasturi's face, whipping her hair around like it had a personal vendetta against her. Every bump, every jolt of the chariot made her grip tighter until her knuckles were white. She told herself she was fine, but her sharp breaths told a different story. Stay calm, stay calm — yeah, right. Easier said than done when they were basically one wrong move away from plummeting to their doom.

"I heard the canyons are particularly beautiful in their own way..." Dodie mused from the back, glancing down at the dizzying heights as if they were casually strolling through a park. "You know, I've always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon — just for sight seeing. Percy said he'd take me one day... after we get our shit together, but..."

Kasturi, Leo, Piper, and Jason blinked at the girl.

Leo snorted. "Sounds like she's got some serious issues."

Kasturi elbowed him in the ribs anyway, throwing him a warning look as he rubbed his side with a grin that said he wasn't all that sorry. "Cut her some slack," she muttered, her voice barely carrying over the wind. "Her lover had suddenly disappeared... she's probably devastated,"

"Yeah, well, we've got bigger problems. Like, not dying, maybe?" Piper chimed in, her voice sharp as she clung to the side of the chariot, her eyes darting nervously to the ominous clouds gathering behind them.
