XXX. THE AGE IN WHICH EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED BETWEEN US... AND EVERYTHING ELSE, I GUESS

━━━━━━

"And meet me there tonight

And let me know that it's not all in my mind"

LOOKING OUT THE CLIFF TO the sight of the vast sea that surrounded Long Island, the breeze blowing through her face, she wondered what would be of once this whole thing ends — you know, once Gaea go to sleep again and never to wake for hopefully a couple hundreds or thousand more years. Of course, this was a question that would suit if she was confident that she'll live by the end of this.

But surely, if she had somehow survived through all those near-death encounters, she was now technically invincible?

At least that was what Kasturi wanted to believe anyway. She survived bandits. She survived this weird modern world with weird electronics and learnt to adapt well (with a few minor problems along the way). She survived the wolf house where Lupa considered her to be a pup or food. She survived being isolated and cast aside by her fellow campers for being a child of Neptune. She survived a whole war. She survived this quest — one after another, death would come and say hi to her, but at the end of the day, she lived. That was a good sign, right?

But in all honesty, what truly would become of her?

Let's say that she were to actually live by the end of this, what was she supposed to do? Was she supposed to go back to Wilderness School until she graduate or something? But Piper and Leo wouldn't need to go back to that life anymore — they wouldn't want to return to that hellhole when they've already found home here, in Camp Half-Blood. But Kasturi didn't belong here. She was no Greek.

Yeah, sure, it was nice to not be reminded that you're some horrible bad luck and all. It was nice to have people that would look out for you instead of treating you like some kind of soldier. It was nice to be able to be treated like a real human around here, a real teenager who was supposed to at least have fun in the middle of all of this chaos. But... But no matter how much she wanted to be here, to be with Piper... Dodie... Leo, she didn't belong here.

But neither did she belong there.

Knock your head and remember, Kasturi, they casted you aside. They banished you for something you didn't mean to happen — something that had been known to be out of your control. Remember.

...which, reminded her now, how was she supposed to face Jason?

Slowly but surely, he was going to get back all of his memory. And although he may have good memories of her now, he'll soon get back the horrible memories of her.
