Tele-Journey Part 7

After their tiring journey along the road,they finally arrived at Xsavion. Steve was so tired after the drive, he instantly left the van and went into the house to rest. All of them got out of the van and stretched their backs. Then,they took their stuff out and brought them inside the house. Jerome and Jessy went into the well to get to Xsandiora to settle some business. Carter brought James to his lab where he created machines.

"You build machines like these too? I'm impressed."James said while his eyes were all over the place,amazed by seeing another person with the same interest as him.

"But why did you call it a lab? Isn't it supposed to be a workshop?"

"I prefer lab even better."Carter answered him.

James chuckled oddly.Then,Carter asked him a question.
"So how do you wanna rebuild your teleportation machine?"

James smirked and took out his prototype device out of his bag and took Carter hand,making it look like he was wearing a gauntlet.At that moment, he was puzzled until he realized.

"I think I'm thinking what you're thinking."He chuckled.
"You do?"
"I do. I do. I do!"He laughed like a maniac.
"What a terrible laugh..."
"We're scientist James,like the mad scientist! We should act like one.Let's do it!"

The two "mad scientists" began their project and spent all day in the lab till dusk.
Steve woke up and got himself ready to watch the baseball game with Luke. After a while,they set off to the Burnett Forth.Originally,Burnet Forth was part of Xsavion and it was known as their entertainment district.But it was abandoned after a certain economical issues happened.
However,after two years being abandoned by the residents of the district,a man named Finnick Burnet build a clan of his own. But it wasn't for criminal purposes,it was for entertainment! He used every abandoned facility in the district such as the cinema,stadium,arcade,shopping mall and gambling house.The gambling house is what attracts people the most. So,the deserted town became a place of joy for some people. Even so,Xsavion is the town with the worst reputation and the weakest security system.Due to that,the dark market was able to operate freely in there,that is why Xsandiorans could get in and out whenever they want.
The moment Luke and Steve arrived,it was crowded with people. Even though the match began around five minutes,the outside of the stadium was full of people.Despite that,they forced their way through the crowd to enter the stadium. In the end,they got themselves in. The inside of the stadium was much more crowded and noisy because of the spectators cheering and chanting for the team that they supported.All of a sudden,the commentator shouted through the microphone after a player hit a home run. The crowds were cheering like crazy,jumping and hoisting their team's flags. Luke and Steve cheered together with them.They were thrilled the whole time they were there until the match ended.The crowd left the stadium,messy as it already was. In the meantime,Luke and Steve felt a bit of hunger and they went to the streets to see if there were any interesting food vendors around.

"I'm hungry as heck."Steve groaned.
"Let's find some food throughout the streets."Luke suggested.
"We'll hardly find any goods here."Steve sighed.
"I leave the choice to you."He said and put his arm on Luke's shoulder. They walked together across the street that was filled with light,smoke from the street vendor's cooking and the sound of people chattering. They walked beside an alley and saw an entrance with blinking lights,it was a nightclub. Steve whistled to the girls near the alley,they giggled to each other.

"How about we spend the night there?Steve asked jokingly.
"You might get into trouble like in Zsantos again."
"Okay...Okay,we're not bringing that up."
After getting tired of walking around and finding nothing good for them to eat,Luke sighed.
"You're right,there's nothing good here."
"There's a corn dog over there."Steve pointed his hand out to the corn dog seller.
"I guess we'll get that."

They approached the seller and bought two corn dogs for each of them.Then,they ate while walking back to the van to get back to the well house.As they were reaching the van,Luke saw a few guys were bothering a girl who was walking alone.
"Wait here,I wanna wash my hand."Luke walked away,quickly.
Steve nodded and pulled out a cigarette box and took one stick out with his mouth.He saw a pipe near the van.
"Hey there's a pipe here..."He looked at Luke who had walked away pretty far. The group of guys were still following the girl.After being ignored by her,they cornered the girl into an alley.
"Come on,let's hang out for a while,it won't take long."One of the guys said.
"Leave me alone."The girl said.
It was Carol.
"What is it?" The first guy asked,mockingly.
"I said leave me alone." Carol said with a firm voice.
"I think she's shy dude." The other guy said,then they laughed sinisterly. Then,the first guy stepped closer to her.
"She's angry man."
"Look at her,she looks like an angry little kitten."They were sniggering.
"Stay away from me." Carol snarled.
"Whoa...Chill,I don't mean any harm." He smirked.
"How about we have a drink at the club or perhaps we could...spend the night together," He whispered. "Just you and me."

At that moment,Carol mustered her strength and slapped the guy with all her might.The other guys were exclaimed and shocked.The first guy was pissed.He wiped his cheek with his hand.

"Guys,I think it's time to teach her a lesson or two."
As he was about to engage towards her, Luke ran towards them and threw a fist straight to his face.The others were surprised, then they helped the first guy to stand. Luke's left hand was still holding a corn dog,still wrapped neatly.
"Hold this please."He threw it to Carol, she caught it.

Luke took his red hoodie off,a gun in a holster was seen but he had no intention of using it. Two of the guys ran away,leaving three guys against Luke. The first guy who was hit by Luke fixed his stance and rushed to punch Luke back. Luke blocked his attack,grabbed the guy close to him and struck him with his knee three times. The guy cried in agony,he coughed violently afterwards.The other guy went towards Luke and tried to hit him.Luke managed to avoid it.The guy lost his balance.Then,Luke used it as his advantage and hit his neck with full force,it left him fainted.The last guy standing was frightened.Luke teased him by attempting to engage into a fight.He ran away without looking back.Luke smirked.
Carol approached him from behind.
"Are you alright?"She asked.
"Oh...I'm fine,"Luke was confused."Wait shouldn't I be asking you that?"
"Here."Carol returned the corn dog back to him.
"Oh...You can have it,I already had one just now."Luke offered it to her while turning away to get his hoodie back.
"Why didn't you use the gun?"She suddenly asked.
Luke's cell phone was ringing,it was Steve.
"I don't want to kill anyone."Luke smiled,left the alley and went to the van.
"What took you so long?I'm tired, let's head back."
"Sorry,I didn't find a working pipe."
"There's a freaking pipe over here and it's working!"
"You could've told me sooner."
Afterwards,they got into the van and went back to the well house.When they arrived, it was quiet but the lights were on.Steve went to the lab downstairs and found James and Carter,still working on their device.
"Y'all don't know what tired is,don't you?"Steve teased.
Luke already slept on the living room's sofa. Steve climbed the stairs to the second floor where his room is.
The next day,Luke woke up and it was already broad daylight.He went to the lab and the two were sleeping there.He then went out to the cafe to get breakfast,or perhaps,lunch.He sat at the table and a waitress came to take his order.Her name is Sonya,daughter of the cafe owner and a friend of Luke.

"Hi Luke,long time no see.Order?"
"Hi,beef tacos and coffee,as usual."
A guy suddenly sat together with him,it was his friend,Simon.
"Oh,Simon...You wanna order too?"
"Nah,I just wanted to talk with Luke."
She smiled and went back to the counter.
"What is it?"Luke asked him.
"You see that girl over there."He gestured his eyes towards a girl sitting alone at the corner of the cafe.
"She was asking around about how to get to Xsandiora. I felt like something was off about her."
"That girl?" Luke was a little shocked,he didn't recognize her.
"She even spent the night here."
Sonya arrived,bringing Luke's order.
"You guys talking about that girl over there?I bet she's not from this town.She even asked my dad to sleep here last night,weird as hell." Sonya blurted.
Luke stared at the girl while eating his tacos. Brown wavy hair girl with a thin black jacket and a long sleeve tee.Luke finished his so-called breakfast and told Simon something.
"Tell her to go to the well house and meet Jerome."He left the cafe.
