Jennie was still a little shaken despite finally being alone in the safety of her home. It seemed that over the past few days had been happening the craziest things to her and she had the feeling that everything was falling apart and there was nothing she could do to stop the advancing disaster: it was an unstoppable escalation that would culminate with the dance solo rehearsal with Lisa.

She still couldn't figure out what had happened during the photoshoot, she only knew that she felt deeply uncomfortable and embarrassed for not noticing anything on the spot. She was too focused on ... ... ... doing her job well. Yes, that was the reason.

Jennie had always been a great professional and certainly too much focus could not be considered a fault. Jisoo and Rosé as usual had exaggerated and seen something that did not exist in reality even counting it as "fact" that she and Lisa liked each other.

It doesn't mean anything, she thought aloud as she nervously filled Kuku's bowl with kibble.

She had only committed herself to completing the shooting without controversy and nothing would have happened if Jisoo had not forced her to be paired with Lisa and, more importantly, if Hyunji had not given her certain absurd speeches that had been implanted in her mind.

Jennie became convinced that what had happened had only been the result of a suggestion born of her friend's words.

No, there was no way she liked Lisa as the others said or Hyunji insinuated. Lisa had ruined Jennie's whole calculated and perfect world so she could do nothing but hate her, just as she had done every day for the past three years.

It's all Hyunji's fault, she sentenced angrily. And Lisa's. And Jisoo's. And Rosé's.

Of all of them.

She angrily uncorked a bottle of wine to pour herself a glass, which she drank all at once.

She closed her eyes and thought that the small mole near the eye, the long, dark eyelashes, the thin, delicate features of the face, and Lisa's full, perfect lips had no effect on her.

None.

Jennie was certain of that, even though her heart had begun slightly to increase beats.

She refilled another glass and remembered the warmth of the body leaning against her back, the enveloping effect of the scent of her trousse on Lisa's skin and the mildly sweet taste of her own lipstick, the same as Lisa's, on her lips.

She felt her stomach twist but blamed it on the fact that all day she had eaten nothing.

Jennie took a new sip of wine and felt a chill spread through her belly the very moment she thought back to the burning look Lisa had given her. It was a reaction completely independent of her will and this, if so far it had only increased the animosity she felt toward Lisa, at that moment, the reaction of her body surprised and frightened her at the same time. She stood with the empty glass in her hand for a few seconds until the sudden ringing of the door bell made her jerk and the glass nearly fell to the floor.

She swept away any images in her head and went to the door wanting to punch Hyunji in the face.

"Delivery service!"

A smiling Rosé had appeared behind the door waving the bags of fried chicken in her hand.

"Why didn't you tell me the shooting was over?" asked her on the spur of the moment with some rancor.

"We tried but you seemed to be in trance..." Rosé sounded sincere. "You know what Internet says about waking up hypnotized people?"

Jennie made an annoyed grimace.
