"honey, we're leaving soon!" your mum shouted from the downstairs

"just a minute," you replied, taking your bag with you as you walked downstairs.

you just came back from studying abroad and decided to help your parents at their bookshop.

back when you were a kid, you're always in your parent's shop after your school ended. since there's only one bookshop in the neighbourhood that time, your schoolmates constantly visit to the shop, that's why you were quite known during your school years.

comic books were your favourite thing that time, you remembered that you tried to finish your schoolwork as fast as you could so that you could read it.

"you can just arrange the books by following the alphabet," your dad told you, patting your back before walking to your mum.

"woah," you mumbled, seeing piles of books were stacked up in a place. most of them were comic books which were probably read by the students, seeing that your cafe was around the school area.

you gathered up a few books and put it back to its place while humming along the song that your mum played on the speaker. as you were arranging the books, you sneaked a few look of the books that you read before back when you were young, it gave you flashbacks of your childhood.

after an hour, the doorbell rang, signalling the people walked in. you walked to the front and smiled at the sight of elementary students and high schoolers walking in with a bow to greet your parents.

your parents introduced you to them, you waved and smiled at them, they bowed at you as well, some even introduced their names to you which you found it cute.

you watched them placing down their bags and went straight to find their desired books to read. you found it endearing at the sight of them reading books.

you took a seat at the table next to the counter, resting for a bit. the doorbell rang again, causing you to look up from your drink.

it was a young man around your age, well, a good looking young man. he was dressed comfortably, a navy hoodie with a tshirt underneath paired with a sweatpants.

"eunseok, you're here."

they know him?

you stood up and walked to your parents while they were giving a hug to each other.

you saw him taking a glance of you before letting go of the hug.

"y/n, this is eunseok, our regular customer, he sometimes help us with the shop," your dad introduced him to you.

you bowed and smiled which he also did the same thing.

"this is y/n, she's the one that i always mentioned, my one and only daughter, she came back from abroad after graduating," your dad said, eunseok nodded while looking at you.

dad mentioned me in front of him?

"you two should get to know each other," your dad added which made your mum nudged at him.

you and eunseok awkwardly nodded with a faint smile at your dad's words.

both your dad and mum went away to check the new stock of books, leaving you and eunseok alone at the counter.

"i'll go and get my books," he said before bowing at you and walked to the comic book aisle. you sat back to your seat and looked at your phone.

"mind if i seat here?"
