George's parents pulled into the bustling parking lot of the college dorm building. Today was move in day and George was incredibly nervous. He got out of the car and immediately went to pull his luggage from the trunk. His parents helped him carry his stuff to his dorm where he met his roommate. His name was Karl and he seemed sweet enough. This took a weight off of George's shoulders to know that who he was living with wasn't a total asshole.

Soon after, George's parents left and he finished setting up his side of the dorm. "Hey, George? Orientation is in, like, an hour. Do you want to get something to eat and then head to the quad?" Karl asked and George accepted. The pair made their way to a small cafe that had a few people sitting at the tables. They went inside and added to the back of the line waiting to order. They got to talking about their lives and what they planned to study now that they were in college and as Karl picked up with a story about his shitty highschool George started to stare off into space.

George's eyes scanned the cafe aimlessly until his eyes fell on a blonde who was enjoying a small
cappuccino is a corner. This guy was laser focused on something on his computer and his eyebrows scrunched in the most endearing way. George smiled at the man, thinking that was probably what he looked like when he played cookie clicker in class. He quickly looked away when the guy looked up from his computer to take a sip of his coffee.

Karl noticed the movement and looked at where George was looking. "Oh, he's hot." He said out loud and George flushed. "If I had eye candy like that to stare at I wouldn't listen to anything, too." George half-smiled and apologized for ignoring Karl. Karl waved it off, but then took it back. "Actually George, I'm so hurt that you ignored me and my very important highschool backstory. The only way to make it up of me is to go and get that guy's number. Right now. No excuses." He said in a dramatic tone. "What?! No way. I can't do that. He's so out of my league." George hid his face in his hands and shook his head. "Oh well. It seems you've already lost your shot." Karl said pointing at the guy's table. George looked up to see a gorgeous woman standing next to the guy, very outwardly flirting with him. What George didn't understand was why the guy was having none of it. He almost look disgusted.

Karl and George watched the scenario play out for a little while longer before making it to the front of the line and ordering their drinks. As Karl paid(they played rock, paper, scissors), George saw the blonde stand from his chair abruptly. He collected his things and pushed past the girl. The girl rolled her eyes and followed after the guy. George sighed at the missed opportunity but ultimately assumed that those two good-looking people had some kind of history that he didn't want to get involved in.

After George and Karl left the cafe they made their way across campus to the quad, where some of orientation and the club fair was set up. They walked through the maze of booths and laughed about anything and everything.

Later that day, the pair wrapped up their time at the fair and threw out their now empty coffee cups on their way back to the dorms. The two made their way in the stairs and to their room and as they walked into their hallway they heard screaming and doors slamming. Karl and George both looked at each other and shrugged.

"Let's just get to our dorm quickly." George whispered and Karl gave curt nod. The boys picked up their pace and hurried to their door. As they neared they saw the man from the coffee shop standing outside the door opposite their's, yelling loudly. George's eyes bugged out of his head and he quickly turned to Karl in a silent "omg!". Karl wore the same expression and looked between the man and George. The two shared a silent conversation and concluded that they would try to slip into their dorm and hopefully go unnoticed.

George made the first move and quickly stepped toward the door. Karl followed which must have alerted the man because his head snapped in their direction. George and Karl froze on the spot. The yelling had stopped and a girl came out of the open doorframe. It was the same girl from the coffee shop!

Karl and George hesitated as they tried to regain their composure. "Um.." they both started but the man interrupted them quickly. He pulled George close to him and loudly stated: "This is the boyfriend I was telling you about." George's mouth dropped open slightly but he quickly hid it because he somehow knew he had to play this part.

The girl scoffed and crossed her arms. "I'm telling you, Clay. You're not gay! I would know you aren't because you seemed to have had such a great time with me a couple months ago." She said confidently.

The guy, Clay, sneered and held George closer. "You don't just get to decide that! I'm bisexual and now I have a boyfriend. I'm not interested in you anymore which I thought I conveyed to you when I broke up with you 4 months ago!" He shouted back and was met with an eye roll from the woman.

George sighed and looked back at Karl. Karl shrugged and gestured toward the woman and George debated. Ultimately he decided that he would say something to this nasty woman.

"Alright, ms. prissy pants. It's plain to see that you don't handle rejection well. Clearly your parents did say no to you enough growing up with the ego you're sport right now. I just want to let you in on a little secret." He said as the girl's eyes thinned and a scowl ran across her face.

"Clay isn't faking being bisexual. He's being genuine with who is but yknow what he can fake?" He paused for dramatic effect.

"No I don't. Humor me." The girl said sarcastically.

"Ever liking a shit face freeloader like you." He finished with a smile and the girl scoffed. She walked off with a strut to hide the obvious blow her ego took just now.

Clay released George and brushed himself off. He moved to stand in the doorframe of his dorm room and looked at George. "Oh god. Sorry about that, my ex is insane. She followed me across state lines for that shit." He said rubbing his temples.

"No worries, do you think it did the trick?" Goethe asked as he heard Karl unlock their own dorm. "What did the trick? You stepping in? Hell yeah. That girl can't take any criticism." Clay chuckled.

"Uh.. yeah and the fact that she thinks we're boyfriends now." George said and Clay blinked.
"Oh, yeah! I did say that. I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have brought you into that. I just didn't know what to do. She just wouldn't believe that I liked men and I did the first thing that came to mind. That must've been so awkward for you! A stranger just claiming you as their boyfriend. I'm sorry if I made you comfortable." Clay said slapping himself on the forehead out of frustration.

"Would you like to come in? I'll make it up to you!" Clay said stepping to one side of the doorframe.

George glanced over his shoulder to see Karl give him a wink and a smirk before shutting the door to their dorm. "I mean, sure. I wasn't that big of a deal. I was really awesome to be your boyfriend for a second there." George said with a chuckle before he could stop himself.

Clay smiled wide at the comment and a glint shown over his eyes that hinted at something. George wasn't sure what but he was ready to find out.
