Chapter 6

There are those moments when you can't decide what's actually better for you, whether you're ready to know a truth about some crap in your life or to continue believing in the lie to maintain the safe, boring and overwhelming style of your daily life.

This could define my situation now or at least a part of it. Kyle or Mason or whoever God knows is walking in long strides towards me, his eyes can dig a hole through me with the pointed, challenging and bit relieved look in his eyes. I am sure that my eyes hold a confused and a bit scared expression. Something in my gut was telling me that it wasn't fine. I don't know that person, I don't know his name, and I am sure as hell I don't know about the photo we have together.

"Jessica David stewart, it's been a long time." His perfect husky voice snapped me out of my thoughts, his eyes were still holding the same emotions and he had a little smirk on his face which fits him perfectly.

Suddenly I felt a flip flop in the bottom of my stomach; HOW THE HELL DID HE KNOW MY FULL NAME?!

Jessica is my real name but noone knows it except for Rose!

"Err Excuse me, but I think there's a misunderstanding here." I said stuttering a bit.

"Umm a misunderstanding?" He said, his smirk getting wider.

"Yeah, That's what I think because I'm pretty sure I don't know you Mister .." I said trying to add much confidence in my voice. I waited for him to tell me his name but instead he gave me a humorless laugh.

"You've changed, Jessica. I miss the girl you used to be, the funny, caring and friendly Jessica.. At least you wouldn't have pretended you don't know me." He said talking seriously, his eyes giving me a pointed look. I caught the pain in his voice. I just kept listening with wide eyes.

"I'm really sorry but..." I began before I was interrupted with a familiar voice.

"Jess, wouldn't you introduce us?" Jace said raising an eyebrow. I don't know when did he return. I guess I was giving the unknown person in front of me all my attention.

"Umm yeah of course.."

"Listen Jessica" Mr unknown interrupted me. " I'm not pretty interested about your new puppy, I am sure we can talk later." He said giving me a forced smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"Excuse me but I think you..." Jace began but Mr Unknown had already turned and walked back to the chick he was talking to.

Jace started to walk after him but I held his hand. I really don't need much drama. He looked into my eyes with a concerned look for one minute then he said

"Would you like to return home, Jess?" Jace said sadly.

"Yeah yeah I'd like to, I'm sorry" I apologized, it wasn't his fault.

"Don't. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time."

He gave me a genuine smile that melted my insides and I couldn't help smiling back. I really think that Jace is a really sweet and caring guy.

Nah I believe it's true.

And I believe I like him... Very much.

I lied down on my bed trying to get some rest but I couldn't let my mind not drift around today's events. I think it's really complicated and it's getting much worse as time passes.

The guy knows who I am, he didn't wrong me, he didn't apologize for sending a wrong picture, of me. That picture is really mine. I feel frustrated that I didn't know the guy's name and I let out a sigh.

I kept staring at the ceiling when something popped at my mind.

That guy isn't Kyle....

Jace said that he saw us together so he would have recognised him.

So he should be Mason...

"Unknown's P.O.V:

I waa getting bored of the blonde chick who kept babbling in front of me. I don't think I've heard a single word from her.

"Katy, I'm really sorry but my dad, you know, wanted some important stuff that I should suit for him."

"It's Kate.." I heard her say but I've already started walking towards the door. I rolled my eyes, like I'd give a fuck about the name.

I swear I'm not a player but that chick is absolutely not my type.

My type is "her". It's Jessica. I smiled as I thought of her and I couldnt hold the pain in my chest. Why did she pretend not knowing me? Why has she changed much?

I opened my car and slid in. I closed my eyes as a special memory came to my mind.

"Mason. Mason. MASON! slow the heck down!" She screamed right into my right ear, clutching her hands around my waist a bit harder. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Jess, you almost made me deaf."

I said trying to sound annoyed but I couldn't hold my chuckles. I can't get annoyed of her, ever.

" And you're about to give me a heart attack." She said in a defensive voice.

"Jess, remember it was your wish."

She had just turned sixteen and she told me she wished to ride a motorcycle, with me.

"Just trust me sweety, okay?" I continued and I could hear the hope in my voice.

"You know I trust you, stupid."

She said in a low voice but I heard her.

I smiled. "I love you, Jess."

She increased her grip around my waist, then she lifted her mouth toward my cheek giving me a small peck.

"I love you more, Mason."

End of flashback.
