Chapter 16: The Bird's Message

Y/n's eyes fluttered open, the dull ache in her head a cruel reminder of her disorientation. The air clung to her skin like damp silk, and she shivered, realizing she was no longer in the library. This was different—a place that defied the laws of comfort and sanity.

The bed she lay upon was an extravagant affair, its twisted black metal posts clawing toward the ceiling like skeletal fingers. The canopy above, woven from shadows, seemed to breathe, its undulating fabric casting eerie patterns on the blood-red velvet bedding. The pillows, plump and inviting, whispered secrets of forgotten dreams, yet their perfection felt unnatural, almost mocking.

Portraits adorned the walls, but these were no ordinary paintings. Their eyes followed Y/n's every move, hungry and insatiable. Thorn-laden frames dripped with a dark, viscous substance, catching the flickering torchlight in unsettling ways. Each face seemed to harbor a story—a tragedy or malevolence etched into their features.

In the corner stood a large mirror, its surface eerily calm. Y/n hesitated, then gazed into it. Her reflection wavered, revealing not her own image but a scene from another time. Figures in opulent attire danced in a grand ballroom, their laughter echoing through the ages. The walls, adorned with gold and blood-red diamonds, pulsed with an unholy life, as if they held secrets too terrible to bear.

And then it hit her: this was Jungkook's room. How had she ended up here? The last thing she remembered was the library, the purple light and the mysterious door. She touched her temple, trying to piece together the fragments of memory. Why would Jungkook bring her to his room?

Questions swirled in her mind like leaves caught in a tempest. Why here? Why now? And who had called her name before she lost consciousness? Was it Jungkook? If so, how he knows she was in library?

Footsteps approached and panic surged within Y/n. She crouched beside the bed, her heart pounding. The door swung open, revealing Jungkook—someone she doesn't want to see and at least not right now

she tries to be as quite as possible, after few seconds she felt someone's presence Infront of her, she looked up and his gaze locked onto her, and she felt pinned by the intensity of his dark eyes.

His proximity was suffocating, and Y/n stammered, her voice barely audible.

"Peasant surprise indeed. You thought you could hide? Foolish." His voice dripped with amusement. "Do you think you can hide from me?"

Y/n's throat tightened. She hadn't meant to hide; fear had driven her to the shadows. She tried to speak, but her voice emerged as a stuttered whisper. "Y-you—"

Jungkook cut her off, his smirk widening. "Courage, or desperation?" he said, kneeling down to her level. "You finally got the courage to explore my room."

His hand moved toward her jaw, and Y/n flinched. "What do you want?" he asked, his tone both mocking and curious. "What are you doing here?"

She swallowed, her mind racing. "I... I don't know"

Jungkook's eyes bore into hers and smirked. "Is it that... you want to do something?"

Y/n nervously replied, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Jungkook's gaze intensified. "Oh, but I think you do." His fingers grazed her skin, sending shivers down her spine. Y/n flinched, trying to avoid his touch.

Jungkook got up and started to leave the room. He stopped at the door and looked back at her. "Get up and get ready."

Confused, Y/n asked, "What are you talking about? What time is it?"
