Chapter Eleven- The Battle Begins

Edward's POV-

Jacob had set some logs down and Benjamin lit his fingers on fire, then threw them at the logs. "That's what I'm talking about, a little pre-battle bonfire." Jacob said as he sat down and waited for someone to join him. When nobody did, he looked around confused about it. "Or just stand there like statues." Suddenly Garrett jumped next to Jake by the bonfire. "Name any American battle, I was there." Jake thought for a moment before he answered. "Little Bighorn." Garrett smiled at the fire while thinking about old memories of the war. "I came this close to biting Custer, but the Indians got to him first." That's when Kate showed up then sat in Garrett's lap. "Try Oleg's assault on Constantinople. He didn't win that one on his own." "If you're talking about battles, you're talking about the Eleven Years' War. No one does rebellion like the Irish." Liam said to them. "You lost the Eleven Years War." Garrett points out to him. "Aye but it was one hell of a rebellion." Meanwhile Bella was with the twins in their tent, putting them to bed.

Third Person POV-

Bella handed both of the twins a gold locket, Renesmee's was thin and round, Rosemary's was the same as Renesmee's but a little bigger with the Cullen crest on it and roses at the bottom. The inside both had a picture of Bella and Edward, and words the girls couldn't understand. "It means more than my own life, that's how much I love you both." The girls started tearing up as they looked at their mother. Whose unbeating heart was breaking seeing her daughters like this. "Hey babies, it's going to be okay. I won't let anyone hurt you, I promise." Bella told her twins as she hugged them close to her. "Tomorrow, I'm going to need you both to stay with Jacob, no matter what. Even if I tell him," Bella paused, not ready to believe she's actually going to say this. "That he has to take you somewhere." After that the girls kept crying until they were tired. As Bella went to exit the tent Renesmee called out to her. "Mommy?" "Yes, baby girl?" "Did aunt Alice, uncle Jasper, and Aunt Hazel leave because we're going to die?" Bella looked at her daughter shocked that she asked such a question. "No, they didn't, they left to get help okay." "Okay, night mommy." Outside Edward was with Carlisle watching everyone, trying to figure out how they can be so happy when they could die tomorrow. "Carlisle, I never thanked you for this, for this life." Carlisle looked at his son shocked by what he just said. In all his years they've been together, Edward has always hated what he was with a passion, but now he's thanking him.

The Next Day-

The Volturi would show up any minute and everyone was secretly scared of what was to come with them. As they stand in their groups staring into the distance. Garrett turns his head to Kate. "If we live through this. I'll follow you anywhere women." "Now you tell me". That's when the sound of the Volturi was getting closer, and everyone put their guard up. Then the Volturi emerged from the distance walking in unison with each other. It was supposed to look intimidating but little Rosie spoke her opinion out loud. "Did you guys' practice that before you came here, and that's why you're late?" Everyone looked in shock at the child, except for Emmett, Garrett, the Romanians, and the wolves who all snickered. Aro, who was in the middle, slowly removed his hood and the rest followed in pursuit. Carlisle stepped up from his side just as Aro did, and that's how it started. "Aro let us discuss this as we used to, in a civilized manner." Carlisle responds to his very stubborn and very greedy old friend. "Far words Carlisle, but out of place given the army you've built against me." "I give you my word that was not my intention, no laws have been broken." Carlisle responds to what Aro said very calmly. "We see the children, do not treat us as fools!" Caius sneered at the Cullen, clearly as angry as ever. "They are not immortal, these witnesses can attest to that, see the flush of human blood in their cheeks." "Artifice!" Caius shouted at him, losing patience "I will collect every facet of the truth, from someone more central to the story." Aro removed his gaze from Carlisle and locked eyes with Edward. "Edward, as one of the children clings to you and the other your newborn mate, I assume you are involved." Edward quickly shares a look with Bella, then looks at his girls. He smiled at them and ruffled their hair as he walked towards Aro. When Edward reached Aro, who gladly took his hand, they stared at each other in a tense silence. After it was over Aro, still looking dazed, looked at the twins who were glued to their mother's side. "I'd like to meet them." Aro said, eyes still glazed over with wonder and curiosity. Bella looked at her daughter's and Jake before walking forwards holding her hands. Bella, Jake, and the girls briefly stopped and looked at Emmett, who turned to Rosalie and kissed her, and joined Bella and the girls walking forward standing next to Edward. Aro leaned forward letting out a crazy laugh making Rosemary flinch and one of his guards step up a little and clench their fists. Renesmee stepped up first knowing her sister was scared. "Hello Aro." Aro gave Renesmee an evil smile and held out his hand, but she went right past it and touched his cheek. When she was done Rosemary stepped to him. "Hi Aro." "Hello Mia Bella." Rosie took a deep breath, then made her hair copper red, changing her appearance was another gift of Her's that she has practiced well. She then changed her hair back to dark brown and put her hand on Aro's cheek showing him everything she remembers. "Magnifico! Both of them, twins half mortal, half immortal, conceived and carried by this newborn while still human!' "Impossible!" Caius exclaimed clearly outraged by the new information they received. "Do you think they fooled me brother?" By now Renesmee, Rosemary, Edward, Bella, Emmett, and Jake made it safely back to their side. "Bring the informer forward." Irina stepped into view, causing her sisters to step up slightly in fear for her. "Are these the children you saw?" Caius said while pointing at the twins, causing the guard who clench their fists to move closer than before. "I'm not sure." "Jane." Caius said, clearly a warning type of voice. "These children are bigger!" Irina rushed out, scared of what was going to happen next. "Then your allegations were false!" Irina looked at the Cullens and their witnesses, especially her sisters, with guilt. "I take full responsibility for my mistakes, the Cullens are innocent." Felix then goes up to Irina while Caius holds a torch, 'I'm sorry' Irina mouthed to her sisters as Felix grabbed her head and ripped it off. Renesmee covered Rosemary's eyes, she didn't want her sister to live with that memory forever. Tanya and Kate were outraged that they went to attack the Volturi, but Garrett grabbed Kate causing her to shock him so hard you could see it miles away. After they calmed down Edward looked to the Volturi in fear. "Caius no!" Edward suddenly fell down on his knees in pain, causing Bella to freak out as she tried to stop it. Soo Edward stopped screaming in pain and started to stand up again. "It's working. Edward told his wife, who smirked at Jane when she realized she was powerless against Bella's shield. Her twin brother Alec stepped forward releasing the black mist from his hands. "Alec". Alec looked back over at Aro before drawing the mist back into his hands, closing them. After that they tried convincing Aro that the girls aren't threats when rustling from the woods caught their attention. "Alice!" Edward and Aro exclaimed at the same time as Alice walked towards Aro, with Hazel and Jasper behind her. She gave her hand as Bella helped the girls get on Jake's back. "It won't matter what I show you, you still won't change your mind." Alice turned around and whispered "now" to Bella, she then turned back to Aro and kicked him 20 or 30 feet in the air. Bella looked at Jake in the eyes and said one last thing to him before he took off. "Take care of my daughter's" When Aro landed he looked at Alice in anger. "Take her away!" Aro shouted as Hazel and Jasper tried to break free from the guards holding them. "Let her go!' Carlisle yelled as he charged at the Volturi taking out two guards in his path. Aro started to charge for Carlisle as well until they jumped in the air, and the sound of a crack was heard. Aro landed on his feet with Carlisle's head in his hands, smiling as Carlisle's Headless body fell behind him, soon being lit on fire. Edward, angry about his father's death, started running at the Volturi, and soon everyone followed him. The Battle Begins.
