Never Meant To Be

The Ride

"Dude you and Jeonghan got into a fight again or something?" Areum asked as soon as she sat on table in the cafeteria. She looked up to notice that it was just Y/N and her at their usual table. The other two were yet to arrive.

"God, don't remind me about it, Areum. I kind of pissed him off this morning. How do you even know about it?" Y/N sighed remembering how Jeonghan lowkey scolded her feeling tired of her behavior.

"Oh, I wanted to pass you notes to recheck them if there were any mistakes. On the way I met Jeonghan. The moment I mentioned your name, he got all annoyed and went away rolling his eyes. Seems like you messed up big this time." Areum stated whilst starting to eat her lunch.

"Yeah, he is really annoyed. Anyways, any updates about Professor Lee?" As soon as Y/N as the question, Areum's face brightened immediately. She started ranting about it to Y/N and Y/N being a good listener she started listening to the younger's rant. Oh, she felt so sad for the ones who already gave their hearts to Lee. Whereas Lee was going to get married in less than a month. It was funny.

While listening to Areum, Y/N looked around in search of Anna and Mia. The two girls still haven't arrived for the lunch.

Y/N was in her senior year of university. Whereas Anna and Mia were in their junior years. And lastly, Areum was a sophomore; second year of university.

Anna, Mia and Areum went to same high school. Y/N knew Anna and Mia since her Second year when they both were Freshmen. Anna and Mia introduced Areum to Y/N a year later.

To be honest, Areum was very intimidated by Y/N as she was already a senior to her by 2 years. When their new friendship began, Areum used to be very nervous, polite towards Y/N. Whenever the older would talk to her, she would always get stiff and stammer her answer. The other two, Anna and Mia would make fun of the youngest for being scared of the oldest.

The 95' liners luck was that Areum never got to know that their situation was worse than that of Areum's. However, as time passed Areum slowly got used to Y/N being around her. It would be a lie if Areum said that she was still not intimidated by Y/N sometimes.

Areum was an Arts' student, Majoring Fashion Designing while her minor subject was Psychology.

Anna and Mia were majoring Business. Anna's minor subject was Journalism while Mia was into sports, she was a great boxer and was aiming to compete Internationally, representing South Korea.

Whereas, Y/N was a science student, Majoring in Medical Science and her minor subject was Psychology as well.

"Where are the other two? I haven't seen them since Friday." Y/N retorted Areum still looking around. Just then she saw Jeonghan entering the cafeteria with his two friends. She averted her eyes from his figure and looked at Areum who had just finished her speech on Professor Lee.

"Oh, they have some sort off project. Mia told me that they are not sure if they could join us for the week. So, it's just you and me! Yayy." Areum stated boringly as she knew that the week would not be interesting in the absence of 95' Liners. Y/N raised her eyebrow at Areum's words to which the youngest smiled awkwardly while sipping Orange Juice.

"I'm done with my lunch. I really want to wait for you, but I got some errands to do. So, I will get going." Y/N stood up from her seat, taking away her plate and soon left the cafeteria. Arun just sighed knowing that she was going to be eating today's lunch alone.
