Valerï awoke to the sun blinding her. It was 4am and she didn't want to go to school but had to. It was May 20th 2123, The first day of school. She hated how school started at 7:45 and she had to be there at least 5 minutes before classes started. She rolled out of bed and walked down the hall to her bathroom. She turned on the shower and got in. After her shower she took time sectioning, styling, and defining her hair before diffusing then  getting dressed. She put her uniform on. Her navy blue blazer looked almost black compared to her white shirt. She pinned her silver name tag right above the school logo. She grabbed her bag and headed to the metro 15 minutes away. While waiting she put on her music before looking at her starr-ing profile. That’s when she noticed she got a new profile view from one of her contacts. She was confused because she didn't remember adding anyone new. She checked who it  was and recognized it as the person she bumped into a couple of days ago when she was walking home from cram school. She wasn't sure why he was listed but decided to ignore it.

When she arrived at her stop it was 7:19am. By the looks of it she wouldn't be late and would have enough time to hangout with her friends before classes began. When she arrived she headed to where her and her friends usually hang out. She only saw Damon and Al. “Hey guys” she said smiling as she sat down. “Hey V,” Al replied, staring at her phone. Just as Val was about to say something she saw her girlfriend  Luna walking up to them. Al glanced up then back down at her screen paying no attention to the person that just walked up. “We need to talk” Luna huffed plopping down next to Valerï. “About?” she trailed off looking at her girlfriend. Valerï was worried she found out about some of their friends wanting them to break up. Valerï looked at her confused. Luna glared and said “I have new people in my class and I don't want you thinking I'm going to replace you”. There were new students? Valerï wasn't surprised considering their school district was pretty popular for new families and last year there were 200 new students and 10 new teachers. “I know you wouldn't…” Valerï trailed off. After what happened with Luna she did have a right to be worried. After all, if Luna truly loved her she wouldn't go behind her back again. However her tone was what worried Val the most. They grew up together and she could tell whenever Luna wasn't sure about something.  After everything would Luna really do that again? She hated not trusting Luna but she made it so hard to trust her. Losing Luna meant losing her best friend, soulmate, and partner. “All year 2’s please report to  the gymnasium to receive your classes” the intercom blared. Valerï  got up and went to grab Luna’s hand but Luna walked right past her, ignoring her.  Valerï decided to just head to the gym and not worry about it. Then she got a notification on her phone from Luna spamming her with hateful messages. Valerï felt nauseous because why would they say all that? As the messages flooded her phone she felt tears streaming down her face. She wiped them off and headed to the gym trying to hold in her emotions. As she walked in everyone was lined up by their teachers. She approached the table marked year 2. A woman with long silky black hair and beautifully tanned skin looked up at her and asked “Name”. “Valerï Galacï-Ryka” She replied nervously. After a few minutes of looking, the lady pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to Valerï along with a new pin that had her name and class on it. Class B-23, interesting. She looked around for her teacher.

After a while she finally found her teacher. After attendance they were taken to their classroom. Out of all the places they could've put her, it was in sector B on the second floor. She wasn't complaining because it seemed fine other than the fact it got very crowded compared to other sectors. Valerï then saw Al and decided to say hi. Just as AL turned around she got a look from Al. Worry. “What’s wrong?” AL asked. “Oh nothing, just Luna is all ''. She replied. “Is it because of how she acted this morning?” Al said. “That and because she sent me a bunch of messages and it really hurt” Valerï replied nervously. “Why are you even still with them?” Al said. “Their  not even all that” Al continued before walking off. Al was right. Valerï didn't want to lose Luna though. They had been best friends since pre-school. Valerï  decided she would try to talk to Luna about this later and continued following her class.

“Valerï Galacï-Ryka” the teacher called out. She was then taken to her seat and immediately got excited because her best friend Tahiya would be sitting next to her. “Hey Tahi!” Valerï said excitedly before sitting down. Tahiya smiled and returned the greeting. After everyone got seated the teacher introduced herself. “I am Mrs. Yisür, I will be your primary teacher for Ecology, Math, and Lunar Language studies”. She said smiling. Valerï was excited to start off the new year with her friends and it seemed like now she had an amazing teacher too. She did wonder where she and Luna stood due to  how Luna was acting that morning. She figured everything would be fine as they had fights before and got over them so maybe they would be fine. After classes and getting her schedule for the week, Lunch began. Valerï began walking to the cafeteria and headed towards the table that her and her friends normally sat at. All of a sudden Al and Damon ran up to her. “We saw Luna with one of the new kids and they were holding hands!” Damon said while trying to catch his breath. Valerï just stared at them. Both out of breath from running. She just looked at them confused then replied “Ok?”. Lance looked like he was about to yell. And Al looked worried. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN OK? SHE WAS CLEARLY INTO HIM!!!” Damon yelled. Valerï saw Luna standing there looking guilty. It felt like an eternity just staring at each other before Luna ran off with her stuff. Valerï chased after her just to lose her. She headed back to the cafeteria and that's when she saw Luna sitting there like nothing happened.

Valerï sat down and didn't say anything before Luna looked over at her and shot her a glare then proceeded to ask “Why are you even sitting here?” to which Valerï replied “you ran off and i went to go look for you”. “I went to go look for Al,” Luna snapped back. That didn't make much sense because Al was sitting right by Damon and was clearly visible. After Lunch, Luna refused to walk with Valerï and wouldn't even text her back. Valerï was confused because why was Luna acting like Valerï was the problem when she didn't even say or do anything?  Valerï decided to ignore it and give her the same treatment because if anything, Valerï had more of a right to be mad at Luna then Luna had to be mad at her. Valerï headed to 5th period alone. It felt weird climbing all those stairs completely alone but decided to try and be happy because she got into one of her favorite classes. Intro to Fabrics. When she entered she saw someone familiar. Someone she wasnt a big fan of. Lilliana was her ex Winston’s partner. Winston ghosted Valerï back in secondary school during their last year. Valerï and Luna had a mutual hate for him after he did that. Winston was one of the few kids in the school whose family migrated from Tian, same with Lilliana's. Around 5% of the school population was of Tianian descent and they were either super nice and willing to crush the rumors about all Tianians being selfish and materialistic or were complete jerks and didn't care about anyone or their opinions. Winston being a jerk wasn't helping with his reputation or the students of similar descent. Valerï headed to a desk far away from Lilliana because she didn't want to interact with them. When class started the teacher explained how in certain projects you would need a partner to work with. Luckily Valerï was friends with Kaia so she wouldn't have to work with anyone else. As they began going over units and classroom syllabus, Valerï felt someone staring at her but ignored it because it wasn’t that big of a deal. After class finally ended it was time to go home. As she began walking down the hallway to the stairs she saw someone familiar. His white-blonde hair and blue markings made his skin seem whiter than paper. It was the boy she bumped into. She immediately felt something off about seeing him. Almost as if something was wrong.
