Strolling through the mist of the night through the blocks of gothic buildings, Kevin looked up at the moon sitting upon the dark clouds, plagued by his dissatisfaction. He wiped the blood off his hands with his fragrant kerchief; it wasn't his.
The blood was of those who drained others' blood, fed on it, and were not much different than himself — vampires. The demons born out of the greedy attempts of men who meddled with things that shouldn't be meddled with.
He had nobody to speak of his internal turmoil, not then, not since that fateful night. At such times, he found his solace in food. That's why he was heading down the street to what seemed to be a quaint cafe.
Beans and Buns it read above the glass door in golden neon lights, the glow of it tainting that side of the streets.
After properly cleaning his hands, Kevin curled his long fingers round the door handle and gently pushed it open. The aroma of coffee and lastly wafted into his nose, making his mouth water. But there was more than just aroma that rushed to him... Along with it came the frustrating shouts of a girl.
"I don't wanna work anymore! Look at the time! I'm done! There aren't any customers either!" A slim blond-haired was marching his way, eyes closed. She threw her apron on one of the round tables near her.
He stood there, hoping she'd stop, but instinctively he knew she was gonna bump into him.
"Honey! Watch out!" An old man shouted from somewhere behind her.
The girl opened her sea blue eyes and upon seeing him, they became wide, almost popping out.
"Oh shi—!" She tried to stop but the sudden break made her stumble and the momentum brought her rushing into him.
"You gotta be kidding me..." He thought in his head right before she crashed into him.
First, he felt the stone pavement smash against his back, especially his butt that hit it before anything. He quickly managed to not fall flat using his hands, but following that, he felt the girl plop on his front as she shrieked.
Her body pressed against his, and her lips accidentally and gently punched his own lips.
He froze, gazing at her blue eyes twinkling in the darkness, lined by long and thick curled lashes. They seemed like big beautiful jewels. He could smell her sweet fragrance up close.
Even she had frozen and didn't pull away. Her plump and pink softly curving cheeks got red.
Kevin pulled back his head. She gazed him with round eyes, her whole face turning red and vibrating with embarrassment maybe. Her beautiful reddish-pink lips glistened in the moonlight. He could still feel the moist they left.
Her warm body was still pressed against him, and even though she was light in weight, he wasn't pleased to be crushed by her, not after what he had just come from... His muscles and bones were already tired and aching.
"Would you mind..." He said, wincing.
"Hmm?" She asked, still embarrassed, unable to comprehend the simplest of words.
"Could you... get off..." He bit his lips in pain; something definitely broke a little, but he didn't know if that was a bone in butt or rib because his whole body ached.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" She rolled to the side.
"Amber!" A tall man — somewhere near the end of his forties probably — came running to the entrance. "Honey! Are you okay?" He helped her up.
"I'm fine, dad." She replied to him.
"Of course she is fine... I'm the one in pain... all thanks to her..." Kevin thought, pressing his back and still wincing.
