Back on track

[Darius POV]

The two T-Rexes bound across the forest, roaring in agitation.

This... isn't normal for them.

I clutch the tablet in my hands worriedly, searching all the buttons for something useful. "How do I tell you that the earthquake has ended? It's over."

Big Eatie lets out a very, very long roar, and it sounds painful.

"Unless it's not."

[3rd POV]

Under the ground, beneath the puzzled Darius, the core lets out another rumble.

A very strong one. Strong enough to shake the ground.

The water around it where the Nothosaurus dwells starts to boil and sizzle, bubbling from an unknown source of heat.

The red alarm blares as the pipes start to release green knockout gas.

Back at the surface, Darius stumbles from the second earthquake. The T-Rexes look around in alert, not knowing that a tree is about to crash.

With a sickening crack, the tree snaps in half, falling on Darius with a loud thud.

Inside the compound, the six distressed campers struggle to keep upright.

Multiple objects start to fall, like clocks and bookshelves. Caleb, Yasmina, and Sammy pull each other away from the falling debris. Ben drags Brooklyn away from a toppling couch, and Y/N crouches by a pole with her hands over her head.

"Under the desk!" Y/N says, pointing at a table by the side. The rest of her friends crawl underneath, but there isn't enough space for her.

"What about you?" Ben yells at her with a worried expression.

"I'll be okay! Just stay there!" She calls out.

"Aftershock?" Caleb guesses.

"Nah. This one's bigger than the first one." Yaz says with her eyes shut tight.

"What's going on around here?" Sammy cries.

The alarm continues to blare, and the tunnels fill with green gas in a matter of a few seconds.

Meanwhile, in Nublar, Hawkes aims his gun, startled by the glowing parasaurolophus that crosses him.

But Kenji notices that this certain herbivore seems familiar.

That's when it hits him; it's Sunbeam.

"Wait! Don't shoot!" He yells, slapping the tranq gun away. Hawkes glares at him and picks it up, not aiming anymore.

The parasaurolophus cautiously approaches Kenji with a small groan. Kenji smiles gently and starts to rub its crest. The dinosaur closes its eyes in bliss, and Mae watches in awe.

"How is she so warm towards you?" Dr. Turner asks in amazement, also stroking the Sunbeam.

Kenji smiles ruefully. "This is Sunbeam, Y/N's friend. She was with us when the Scorpious Rex attacked, but then left when we had to go to the boat. I guess... she still recognizes me."

Mae smiles softly at Kenji, seeing another side to him, a gentler one. But she isn't surprised.

However, she, along with Hawkes and Mr. Kon, is curious of whatever the Scorpious Rex is. But they don't ask any more questions.

"Hey girl. I bet you miss Y/N, don't you?" Kenji says, his face turning sad at the thought of his cousin. "Yeah. I miss her too."

Mr. Kon walks up to his son and lays a hand on his shoulder. "We need to go, son. Say your goodbyes."
