Freedom, suspicion
Yay, double update!
A whole episode. 😁
[3rd POV]Mae and Hawkes walk back to Kon, the briefcase of samples in Dr. Turner's hands.
"What took so long?" Kon asks with an annoyed face.
"We had a bit of a hiccup." Hawkes begrudgingly says. "But we got everything on the list."
"Good. Now prepare for departure. We have an issue back on my island, so we need to get back. Quickly."
"What happened?" Hawkes asks, noticing the pissed look on Kon's face.
"Those kids found a way out." Kon growls. "And I can't connect to any of the BRADs or BRAD-Xs, so who knows what they've gotten into."
Mae's mouth spreads into a small smile, but she quickly wipes it off.
"Go!" Kon yells and Hawkes immediately responds.
"If they ruin this deal, I swear..." Kon mutters.
"The children are free." Mae whispers happily to herself, a wide beam taking over her lips.

Kenji approaches his dad with a hard expression. Kon smiles at him warmly. "How's Toro?"
"Fine, Dad, I don't know if you gave the 'okay', but-"
"Yes, we need to leave immediately." Kon says, looking back down on the tablet with the smallest of frowns. "We're in a bit of a rush to return to the island."
"Wait, what? Did something happen?"
"Nothing bad. It's good, actually." Kon says. "Dodgson simply wants the order earlier than scheduled."
"Two hours earlier?" Kenji cocks a suspicious eyebrow.
"This is how deals work, son." He says, his eyes glued to the tablet. Kenji's frown deepens.
Hawkes and two goons walk into the room. "Assets are secured. But the Doctor's missing."
Kenji's eyebrows lift in surprise and worry.
"Well, them, we need to look for her, don't we?" Kon sternly says, his eye twitching in annoyance.
The goons nod.
"I'll go too." Kenji offers. "If we split up, we can cover more ground."
"Good idea. I'll stay here in case she returns from her little adventure." Daniel decides.
Kenji walks forwards, but turns around and hands his father the two pairs of keys with a hard stare. "Found these on the ground."
Kon glances at his son with his mouth slightly open, but Kenji just glares and runs after the goons as fast as he can.
Mae sprints through the forest as fast as her feet can take her. She clutches the briefcase tighter just in case it falls and scatters.
She has no time to lose. They're tailing her.
Doctor reaches a rushing stream and she halts, panting, and crouches down to drink some water with her hands.
She stares at her expression as it falters, but she strengthens it and lifts the briefcase above her head and empties it into the water.
She watches triumphantly as the vials flow away and to who knows where. A parasaurolophus passes her with a growl.
"Hello again." Mae breathes. She watches in fascination as the herd lays a few large monocotyledon leaves on a pile of rocks covering a dead parasaurolophus carcass.
