~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"RETREAT!"
Yelled out a horde soldier as he watched many of his comrades perish. He tries to fend off a few more bear-human hybrids before running away in terror. He huffs as he turns back seeing a massive 12 foot bear with copperish fur magically and slowly shrink back into a tall and heavy, muscular male. The male's hair messy with sweat as he held his slashed side. He limps back into the forest as others joined him.
In the distance, the horde soldiers, or what was left of them retreated back to their base. Most of them wounded and bleeding. Some, traumatized as they had witnessed their fallen comrades perish into the hands of none like they have ever seen.
As the remaining horde soldiers ran away, the chief of the village turned around and looked at what was left of the village. He sighed and started to walk to the center of the village. Many structured homes and stands were destroyed, bodies of horde soldiers and fallen village warriors on the floor. As he journeyed through the remains of the buildings a memory flashed before his eyes
'Dear stars! (Y/N)!'
He picked up his pace, running past the other building as he started calling out her name. "(Y/N)!" He screamed as the rest of the village members turned and gasped. He ran towards the direction of their home. Only to find the building, half destroyed, he froze before calling out to her.
"(Y/N)! (Y/N), ARE YOU OKAY!? ARE YOU IN THERE MY BABY!?"
He called out and soon grew fearful as he heard no reply. His breath picked up, his form, grew furrier than he was, taller and more heavier as he started digging through the rubbel. He tried to catch her scent but he couldn't pinpoint it, her room, kitchen, and bathroom were mixed up with the smell of rocks, concrete and metal from the robots that where once there, along with the foul stench of horde soldiers.
"(Y/N)..No, no, NO! Please stars.."
He cried as he cleared a way for him to enter, the remaining spaces that were still up. Was the work office as he called it and his bedroom. "(Y/N)!" He called as he entered his bedroom. He found that his closet was open but no one inside. "No.. please.. please.." He dug through the closet, hoping she was hiding in there before looking under his bed, he then checked what was left of what was the bathroom and found nothing.He grew teary eyed and started to panic more as he couldn't find her before praying and started to sniff around. Once he caught a whiff of her scent, he followed it from the rubbel to his bedroom closet, than to the office.
"Oh, baby.. please be here.." He whispered before looking around the place. He looked in a trunk of his papers, his boxes and soon he caught her scent. He sniffed around and followed it under his desk. He found a little cub with copper like fur, curled up as a ball, shivering.
He gasped and then got onto his hands and knees, slowly shrinking back into his human form. "Darling?" He whispered and reached out towards her, the cub looked up and she was sobbing, shaking with shock. "PAPA!" She jumped onto him and sobbed into her father's chest as her figure turned back into the three year old.
"I was scared.. so scared.. I looked into your closet and got..". She showed him a necklace with a ring on it. It was her mother's ring, the one she had one before she passed. "Mama said that.. whenever I was scared..or..in danger, to hold onto this ring..because she would look after me".
The big bear let out a quiet sob and nodded. "Is that right..? Oh, darling..I got so worried..when you didn't reply.." He held her close to him and together, they both cried out the tears they tried to hide.
