Killua was in the hospital aboard the Black Whale, where many doctors were taking care of him. His arm was wrapped in bandages because an insect had bitten into it, that was the last thing Killua could remember along with his dragon dissolving into aura and flowing into his body.

"Where am I?" he muttered to himself. "You're awake! Hello, how are you feeling?" Chedle's voice broke through his confusion. "What a stupid question, obviously awful," Killua replied, noticing another person beside Chedle.

"Haha, guys, he's awake," Cheadle exclaimed. Suddenly, a door swung open, and two figures emerged. "KILLUA!" Leorio and Gon shouted simultaneously, rushing towards him.

"STOP! Don't take another step," the man standing next to Cheadle commanded. "How do we know this boy isn't from the Dark Continent and just looks human?" he questioned. "Are you kidding us? Obviously, he's an old friend of ours, Killua. We would know if he were one of them," Leorio retorted.

"K-Killua, how are you? Is everything okay? We've been so worried about you," Gon spoke quickly. "I'm fine, everything's okay," Killua reassured him. Gon slowly reached for Killua's arm to inspect the injury. "Gon, the arm still needs to heal," Cheadle intervened. Gon lowered his arm apologetically.

"Sorry," Gon muttered. "Come on, Killua, let's go see Kurapika. He'd be glad to see you," Gon suggested. "The boy isn't going anywhere," the man intervened again. "Why not? Killua is perfectly fine," Gon argued. "Did you not hear what I said? We don't know if he's one of us," the man insisted.

"But I know, and I'd notice," Gon asserted loudly. "Listen here," the man grabbed Gon's arm. "Hey, let him go!" Leorio shouted. Killua leaped off the bed. "I'm leaving," he stated, moving to go. "You're not going anywhere without authorization," the man stopped him. "When I say I'm going, I mean it," Killua's voice took on a darker tone as he grabbed his backpack. The man froze for a moment. Gon and Leorio followed suit, leaving with Killua.

"Oh man, what a wimp," I thought to myself. "Killua!" I heard someone call out—it was Gon, who began to hug me. "I'm so glad you're here," Gon said with a smile. I blushed a bit, but my hair covered it. "Idiot," I muttered softly.

"Hey, are you two hugging without me?" Leorio chimed in, joining the embrace. "Okay, okay, that's enough, I think," I said, trying to diffuse the situation. "Sorry," Gon said sheepishly. "S-So, Killua, is everything okay with, you know, the thing with Kite and Pitou and all?" Gon asked.

"Yeah, everything's fine," I replied sadly, masking the truth with a lie. "Hey, Killua, you told me you were in Tokyo with Alluka," Leorio interjected. "Yeah, I changed my mind," I said casually. "Speaking of Alluka, how is she, and where is she?" Gon asked me.

"Uhh... she's fine, my butlers are taking care of her," I replied nonchalantly. "Hey, Leorio, we still need you as a doctor!" Cheadle called out. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," Leorio responded, heading back into the room.

I turned to go in another direction, but Gon held me back. "H-Hey, Killua, everything alright?" Gon asked me. "Yeah, what do you think?" I retorted. "Well, when I asked you about, you know, Pitou and all, you looked sad. I'm sorry, Killu-" Gon tried to finish his sentence.

"Just forget it, Gon," I said, cutting him off, and walked away. "But, Killua?" Gon said sadly.

[In another room, POV: Killua]

I walked into an empty room and took a moment to think. "Oh man, what's wrong with me!?" I punched the wall hard and then sat down on the floor. "I'm still angry at Gon, but the whole plan went wrong. I just wanted to save Alluka, but everything went wrong. First, the storm, then the cave, then the canyons, and then those damn flying insects that attacked me. It's consuming so much time!" I punched the wall again. "I have no other choice; I have to stay on the ship. I don't know any other way to travel across the sea to the Dark Continent."

[POV: Gon]

Killua just walked away. It's probably my fault, hmm. He's still mad. If only I were a good friend... but I wasn't. Killua was. He did everything to save me. How could I be so selfish? How could I be so stupid? I always wished for a friend, but in the end, I wasn't a good friend myself. Maybe I don't deserve to have a friend. I almost started to cry until I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, Gon, what's wrong?" I turned around to see Kite. "Nothing," I replied. "Come on, Gon," he said gently.

"I-It's Killua. He still seems mad at me," I admitted.

"Gon, problems in friendship happen, and sometimes mistakes are made, and that's both normal. Killua will definitely forgive you," he reassured me.

"Are you sure?" I asked, feeling somewhat disappointed.

"Definitely, Gon," he affirmed. "I have a question, Gon. Why is Killua on board now? I didn't see him before," Kite inquired.

"Well, he didn't really give me a proper reason, and I didn't believe him. There's probably another reason," I explained.

"Okay, should we go together to tell Kurapika since a new comrade just came on board?" Kite suggested.

"Just tell him yourself. I have something else to do," I replied.

"Alright," Kite said, then walked away.
